| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I know if they are hitting the floor the are too long and the foot would spred, she cuts them short, right now the are no more than 1/8 of an inch, and this does keep the quick short.

| I think a dremel is the best tool to use. if you pinch the nail at all with the clippers, it can be painful. I hate doing nails too... And I always tend to go on the long side because one bad experience can make it difficult from then on to cut your dogs nails... |

| Shelby has won the battle at our house as well. She now gets them trimmed at the groomers and/or the vet depending on timeframe. I try to make she they are trimmed every 3 - 4 weeks so they stay short and the quick doesn't grow out |
