I would put his crate next to my bed (I do that with my babies anyway ) That way you can hear him if he needs you.

Yes, he already sleeps by the bed.

Idk, we've only had him for a little over a week and his first vet visit went good...

Usually, if they are scratching their ears, then that is a sure sign of mites or a yeast infection, but shaking the head could be or could not be. Know what I mean?

Smell his ears....do they have an odor? Have you looked in his ears....not with an instrument, just look at what you can see inside the ear....is is clean? Most important, does it smell? Could be ear mites or could be a fungus ear infection...your vet will look and check it out and be able to tell you.

It could a variety of reasons as to why he is doing that.

Hi and welcome to YT. Even if your little one is no longer shaking his head I would still take him to the vet. Your vet is best equipped to examine and diagnose.

When we got Kyra she would do that and paw at her ears. The vet checked for infection and mites and said it was most likely because she was teething. I would call just to be safe though

All this happened with our Harry when he was tiny....I could hear his ears flapping around that night so we were able to get up and give them a very gentle massage, which seemed to help ....it ended up being a teething thing, our vet said.

Just got home on my lunch, Ryder is acting perfectly normal and not shaking his head anymore. I haven't called the vet yet, kinda been waiting around to see how he acts for the rest of the day..

I would not ignore the problem though.
