YorkieTalk Newbie! | Yorkie color Posted Yesterday at 06:48 PM by butterflyblue10 Tags I am disappointed with the color that my Yorkie has at the present time. She is all black on back and has a lot of "red" on face. I was really hoping for a light tan face at least. Is there any hope she will get lighter and lose some of the red. I don't particularly like it, but she is a sweetheart. She is 6 mo old now. Her name is Sadie. |

I think sadie is gorgeous. Why do you not like her color? Normally yorkies do lighten and change color a bit as they get older but what she will look like i don't know.. I am sure she will be beautiful anyway | |

| Hello and welcome! Is that little Sadie in your avatar? She is absolutely stunning!!! Our littlies do go through many different colours - Harry was black and tan when we got him. He's been through all the colours of the rainbow (well, almost....). Now he's silvery/white on a lot of his little body....a bit like me!!! Sally + Harry x |

| Hi and welcome to YT! I just looked at Sadie in your album and think she is absolutely beautiful. Georgie's hair is sometime gray and then when he gets groomed it's almost all black on his body. Check around YT there are so many different shapes, sizes and colors Yorkie's are amazing!

| They don't finish changing for a couple of years but your sadie is beautiful it wouldn't bother me at all to have one with her coat. Love it. Welcome to YT.

Yorkie's do change coat color as they get older. I just pray that if she doesn't you won't stay dissapointed in her. I know I love her color.

| I have a question that is probably one of the mundane questions of newbies on this forum I've seen those that have been here for awhile consider boring, my apologies, but here goes. I'm more used to shelties until I got my first yorkie. I saw an ad in our local paper for "parti" yorkies. Is there such a thing? At least the ad said they should be around 5-6 lbs when they are grown, and didn't say "teacup" yorkies to boot!

| It looks like she still has her puppy coat and that its normally always black. I think yorkie's can change colors up to two years old.

| I think she is beautiful! I'm hoping for that red color. I think it's gorgeous but either way I will be happy with my yorkies. They are great companion dogs and for me that's what it's about. |
