| How big will my yorkie get? Hi, I'm new to YT! When I got my Yorkie she was 16 weeks and 2.8lbs. When I had purchased my yorkie the breeder claimed she would be around 4lbs. She's 26 weeks old and already 4.8lbs. The dam was 4lbs 12 oz and the sire was a 3lb 12oz dog. Do you think she will continue to grow or stay about where she is right now? She is about 12 inches from head to toe and her body is about 7.5 in tall. I love my baby no matter what, and Im just curious because I have already bought her a bunch of clothing. |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | That really a difficult question to answer considering Yorkies come from a long line of medium size dogs and were breed to the smaller size most people see on TV these days. It is possible for a pups to be larger than the parents if it comes from a line of larger g'dogs. Example: I kept a pup form a litter from my 8-9 lbs. parents. SHe ended up being twice the size of both of them. Today she weighs 18lbs. and stands around 15' at the shoulder.

| Did you see the mom and dad dog? Sometimes a dog can produce larger puppies but yours sounds quite a bit bigger than the parents. There is a general rule listed here on YT that by doubling the puppy's high and weight at 13 weeks you can estimate how big your dog will be when mature. |

| Yes, i saw the mom and dad in person. Well, 4.8 lbs is equivalent to 4 lbs 12 oz which is the weight of the mother, but she is still only 26 weeks old leaving her more room to grow? When i double her 13 week old weight it is about the equivalent of what she is right now, could she be done growing? --She doesn't seem to be overweight or eat much, but could I possibly be overfeeding her? I feed her Buffalo Blue for Small puppy Breed, and i give her her bowl a couple times a day but she doesn't seem to eat much...only before she goes to sleep. |

| There is no sure fire way to tell 100% how big your pup will get some times even tiny parents can produce a pup that gets bigger because it might be in there genetics. Most of Callie's clothes I bought when she was a pup were from ebay and gently used until she got full grown.

| If she is only 26 weeks I doubt she is done growing. Laddy grew till he was almost a year old. Kyra is 5 months and hopefully still growing. Your baby sure is a little cutie.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | The normal rule is that a dog is done growing between the age of 18 mos. and 2.

| hi your baby is very cute. i have no idea how big your baby will get but this is my boy: 26 weeks @ 6lbs 12ozs. he is now 31 weeks/ a little over 7 months @ 7lbs 5ozs so he has slowed in growth quite a bit. you just have to wait and see i guess... |
