| Is it just me? Is it just me or do some people just not CARE about their furbabies? I went to SAM'S today, the lady in line infront of me was purchasing a big bag of chicken jerkey treats. I recognized the front of the bag as being one of the two that has been related to dogs deaths. I told the lady that I wasnt trying to be nosey, but that she needed to know that the treats that she was purchasing had been connected with more than 90 dog deaths. Her response "Thank you,I know, I did my homework before I got them" , "It was sweet of you to care". There is NO way that she did any homework or maybe she just was more interested in getting the most for her dollar. I couldnt even make eye contact with her after that. I couldnt think of any response to her that wouldnt get me in alot of trouble. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | You did your part and I commend you for it. It's hard to talk to strangers. I do understand why the person ignored you, unfortunately, there are so many people who exaggerate the harmfulness of so many things that some people choose to ignore it all. With a small dog we do indeed have to be more diligent because an illness that wouldn’t hurt a large breed dog can quickly kill a small dog. I mean they can only lose a few pounds before they are completely dehydrated. I haven’t read both sides of the argument, but 90 deaths is enough to sway me to avoid chicken jerky. Who knows, your words may have more impact than you think, and maybe when she got home she actually did do some research on the topic.

| Well, you did what you could. Hopefully it doesn't hurt her dog(s).

| Its terrible. I think some people think well if its that bad they would not still be on the shelf and that's so not true. I really really wish they would take them all off the shelves.

| I probably would have put the bag back if someone in line told me something like that. Actually I know I would have. |

| I agree some people just don't care as much as others about their pets. You did your part. |

| Now that is a good question. Maybe some emails to them might bring it to their attention? Hard to believe they don't already know.

| I have wondered why these things are still on the shelves. If it was a baby product it would of been taken off the shelves quickly. I have been wondering what it would take to make pet products as important as people products. Im probably reaching for the moon. The lady was actually very nice, but very ignorant of the facts. |
