| Weight Gain My 18 month old Yorkie still only weighs 3 pounds. I really would like to see her between four and five pounds. Any suggestions on how to make her gain weight. She is so hyper that she just can't seem to gain weight. |

| Are you sure she needs to gain that much? I would ask my vet, because depending on her frame what she might be overweight if she were to gain that much.

| Hello and welcome to yorkie talk..Are her parents really small? Not sure what you can do,,my girl is really thin but weighs about 5 lbs., she would be heavier if she wasn't so active, she loves to eat. Hopefully the others can help you,,I am still in the learning process.

| Weight Gain Her father is 4 pounds and her mother is 5 pounds. So, I thought she would be somewhere between the two |

| Just because her parents were a certain weight doesn't mean she should be the same weight. I would check with your vet and see what they say.

She may only be a 3# baby! Your vet will be able to tell you if she is framed out to be a 4-5# dog. |

| I have one that was charting to be 5# and stopped at 2.5! She's 2 now and holding steady at that. My vet said she won't get any bigger than she is but she's healthy as can be and not to worry. Sometimes you just get a tiny one. While it's not the ideal size, it's ok. Just be careful if she ever gets sick. The tiny ones can go downhill fast. |
