| Does heartworm meds kill all worms? I'm in a discussion with a friend, about worms, her dog had worms last year, was treated, and was fine. I told her I was going to drop off a sample of coopers to check for worms,, I'm not sure if he has but he has been eating a little erratic for the last week or so. She said her vet said the heart worm meds would kill most of the worms have you ever heard this? Not sure why copper has been eating differently but I'm a tad worried and worms would explain it. He got out 3 weeks ago by mistake and was out all night by himself. He is on heartwork meds he is on heart guard. He had blood work and ck after his night out all was fine but he was fine. Ty |

| Yup, meds like Heartguard/etc usually kill other worms too (wipeworms, tapeworms, etc). Eating a bit differently doesn't really scream "worms!" to me, especially if he's on preventative. Sometimes Jackson won't eat as much when the weather begins getting warmer, or if he doesn't get as much exercise as usual, he tends to not be as hungry.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I heard that heartgard plus kills all the worms that your dog can pass to a human, I feel a little better about having Joey sleep with me when I know he can't give me anything that would gross me out. We have a fairly intimate relationship. Quote:
