| Feeding I have two small yorkies, one is 3 lbs. and the other is 4 lbs. The younger one, Gidget, has been very sick with a "nasty" infection to quote the Vet. She took a round of amox and is SO much better. While she was sick, I was told to cook her plain chicken and hamburger meat and along with this I gave her plain yogurt which she loves. Now that she is well, the Vet recommended that I feed my girls a prescription dry food and a canned food. (Gidget, it seems, has a sensitive stomach.) However, since they have been eating "people" food, guess what? They don't want anything to do with the dry food and are not crazy about the canned. Gidget has always had a problem with hypoglycemia and consequently, I'm not comfortable with putting the food down and waiting till they are hungry enough to eat it. So, do any of you long-time yorkie owners have any suggestions on what I should do to get them to eat so that I can keep them well. I am a Realtor and need to have a simple but nutritious feeding plan for them as I am in and out of the house when working. |

| Will the vet agree to putting some chicken, hamburger or yogurt in the food they want them to eat?

| Probably, as I had told her I had just about decided to cook all their food but she pointed out that it would not be a balanced diet for them so I needed to get them to eat dog food. I have tried mixing it but they pretty much pick the dry food out...they do eat the canned food mixed with the fresh food. |

It is a raw dehydrated diet. There is one called Preference , you add your choice of meat. This is a balanced diet. I have fed it to my dogs and they love it. The company does sell samples. Also check your local pet stores . This is the website: Grain Free Dog Food | Dehydrated Dog Food | Homemade | Preference | The Honest Kitchen | |
