| ![]() The sculpt of the face is different too, though. I had the Geddes bunny doll and that one is different than her line.

| ![]() She makes them with different faces. You can find them on ebay from all different years. I don't know if she made them all the same each year or not though.

| ![]() There was a doll like that one back in the 80s I believe. I remember a friend of mine got a couple for her daughters....I swear they looked just like this one.

| ![]() The bunny doll as it was called were several in number but all sculpted with very similar features and were basically familial looking and none of the bunny line had the large eyes, or larger, more colorful mouth of this doll. This doll does not look like any of the Geddes' bunny line to me. The Geddes' teddy doll sculpt had a somewhat different look to its features as did some of her other creatures but the bunny dolls all were of the small-eyed, un-emphasized mouth look of that doll in my post and they all favored each other. Just to put a fine point on it, just because it is advertised as an Ann Geddes on an online doll store doesn't make it one. There were several manufacturers who made knock-offs. It would have to have a label to more likely identify it and even then if it didn't closely resemble the original line closely enough in sculpt or quality, you could question it. Some labels misspell names a bit, etc. to try to better copy. As a doll collector who had the doll and often examined the others of the line as different ones were produced at the time, I would not identify it as an original Geddes but one of the knock-offs.

| ![]() Yikes you all. I apologize for sounding like old Miss Johnson school marm with her glasses down on the end of her nose and her bun wound way too tight! In my old dealings in doll collecting, you pretty often had to deal with people who advertised in collectors' newspapers and sort of disagree a bit if they were trying to sell you something at a name-brand price that you suspected from the picture was just a copy and you had to get a bit energetic at times in trying to point out that what they were selling was different in such and such ways. On doll forums I've visited recently, this goes on daily. Guess I automatically went into that mode without realizing how picky and officious it sounded here! Silly of me and I obviously do not have nearly enough to do lately! I sure hope you find another Humpy! ![]()

| ![]() Jeanie, I didn't think of it that way at all. You look at things I never thought about. All I've ever done was play with dolls when I was little. ![]()

| ![]() ![]() I was just checking back to see if the bunny doll had been found. I apologize for not offering assistance, but I raised two boys and have no idea about dolls despite now having a granddaughter. I did, however, do some looking around, but since I am so bad at girlie stuff, found nothing even close. You are indeed fortunate to have knowledgeable doll folks helping find the replacement you need. Good luck...and thanks for the laugh...love the unexpected visitor leg...and the Maxwell gif... ![]()

| ![]() I hope you find your little one's baby. I got a shorkie when she was 7 weeks old and the breeder gave me a little tye dyed looking bear. Izzie went through a false pregnancy once and she carried that little bear everywhere. She would even curl up around it like she was nursing it. She has to have her baby with her especially at night. If we can't find it and take her on to bed she sits at the end of the bed and whines. When she goes outside to greet anyone that bear is hanging out of her mouth. Izzie will be 6 yrs old in another 2 weeks and the bear is looking pretty rough. It's been sewn back together multiple times and its been washed time and time again. But heaven help us if we lose that teddy because I've never been able to find another. Good luck in your search because I know how attached they can get to certain things. I think in my avatar Izzie has her baby with her. Last edited by anniernc; 04-03-2012 at 07:49 AM. |

| ![]() I still have my late little Jilly's yellow round plush Smiley Face with arms and legs that she came home with from the breeder. She destroyed every other toy she ever had but that one. It is the worse for wear and kind of dirty and has one skinny leg almost torn off but, oh, she loved her Smiley. She kept him with her throughout the day most days and every night but she would never take him outside. No other dog was allowed to touch him! I can't wash or repair old Smiley as he must stay exactly as she left him. But if something happened to Smiley while she was still alive, I know I would be busy trying to replace him as best I could and hope she would accept the new one. She really loved Smiley!
