| barking at "tv dogs" Dinky barks at almost every dog he sees on television. Any ideas on how to get him to stop. Also, today he barked at dinosaurs on television. We usually tell him, No... Tv dog, tv dog. with the dinosaurs, I told him, no... they're extinct, they're extinct. so it was funny, but really any ideas on how to get our little guy to figure this out. He's two years old by the way. |

| barking at tv i'll keep looking at your post because Leia barks at the door bells or knocking from tv and haven't been able to get her to know the difference... the noises are from different parts of the house... but aren't they cute when they do these things?!?!?

| I have no ideas, but I do know that some Yorkies are addicted to barking at things for no apparent reason forever. With Rusty, its trains, and for Cheyenne its the big dog who lives across the street. They were never interested in TV....

ZoE too!!! Even animated ones! There's a local animated carpet advert with a dog in it...she goes nuts!!! She barks at all dogs, horses, cows, the cadbury easter bunny...but she doesn't usually bark at cats on tv...wierd huh? She now recognizes the beginning sounds/music of commercials with animals and will come flying in to the room barking. I had to anchor my tv to the wall because she jumps against the cabinet it's on and it shook like crazy.

| Gwenni does the same thing! I don't think I'll ever be able to get her to realize that they're not in our living room. I just give her our "quiet" command and she hushes, but I don't think she'll ever not respond.

Khloe does the same thing. I've slowly conditioned her and she is starting to accept that they are not real. She used to go behind the tv looking for them... lol. Now whenever I see a dog on tv and notice she's watching, I praise her for not barking. She seems to mostly get it now... She only occasionally barks and I just tell her "no bark Khloe". Good luck, she's two now and finally getting it

| Bailey loves to watch tv, especially the animal planet. He only barks when he hears a door bell. Then he goes crazy. Otherwise, he's pretty quiet. |

| Well, now I know. It's just one more thing to love and laugh about. I'll have to read these posts to my husband. We just look at each other and shake our heads when he does it. I guess tv dogs and critters just press he bark button! Thanks for the replies! |
