| Milo the maniac Oh my gosh. You know I haven't had Milo very long and I love him to death but last night I thought I had a devil dog. I am running on no sleep. Mr. Milo was up ALL night. He was playing, running around showing off his barker. He reminded me of the Tasmanian devil in the cartoons. He was so wound up last night I just can't believe it. Tonight I am planning some pretty vigorous play time right before bed, maybe that will help. Maybe it's just a matter of getting his hours adjusted so we are all on the same time clock. I thought of keeping him up during the day so he will sleep at night, will that work I wonder? |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | They say that exercise can also give you a second wind, and it's better to exercise early if you want a good night sleep. How about a nice walk, does Milo like to walk, we're having such wonderful weather, and that always helps Joey sleep.

| I haven't introduced him to the leash yet. I was hoping to wait until after he has his next round of shots. I don't want to expose him to anything we will be sorry for. |

| I always recommend that too...that they are completely vaccinated before you expose them to any other dogs or where they have been....rather safe than sorry. But play his butt off at night, and keep him up more during the day...all of mine are on a schedule...up in the morning, down for a nap 12:30 -2pm, back up for the afternoon, puppies go back down at 2:30pm - 4:30pm, back up for late afternoon, bedtime at 9pm. They are on this schedule from age 6 weeks until they go to new homes...adults get to stay up from noon nap time until bedtime. At noon, everyone goes to their crates and wait for me to pick them up and put them in and cover the crate....same at night! |

| Tibbe is a night "person". He's 4 1/2 years old. He sleeps quite a bit during the day most days, and in the late afternoon, comes alive, eats a lot of dinner, plays outside and spends the evening racing about the house, pestering me constantly to play with him(gets his way most of the time), watching out the front as people get home from work, eat and then come out to work in the yard or load the car and the family go off somewhere while other children play out front - all that is simply fascinating to him), and coming to tell me about what he sees outside and wanting me to come see too. Then approaching about 10:00 a.m., he wants to playfight with me - a big, rousing rumble/tumble bout and it all ends up with him racing through the house from excitement. Not long after that, he begins to run down, snacks from his bowl a bit and after a last visit outside, curls up and goes to bed. On other days, he's up all day and evening and hardly ever stops going and playing all day and evening. But you might try keeping him up during the day to see if it will slow him down at night - though it never really changed Tibbe.

| Do you crate him at night? I know mine if I give free reign of the house would never sleep at night.

| Miss Priss is the same way, she is a fireball most of the day but sleeps well at night, I admit the crate is a lifesaver for me.

| I know he has teeth and nails like a cat, ouch. He is also a climber. He climbs on everything, me included. I was playing with him on the bed and he discovered the night stand. He just walked over and started climbing around everything that was on the stand, clock, lamp and so on. I was afraid ha was going to fall so I grabbed him and got him interested in something else. I have to watch him pretty closely. |
