| Omg, oscar scared me nearly to death. I was sitting on the sofa and he was playing on the floor and all of the sudden he starts acting like he was choking on something. I picked him up looked in his mouth , nothing there. I held him with his head down and patted his back still nothing. He swallowed a couple times then he seemed fine. I don't know , maybe he swallowed one of his baby teeth. He seems ok now, but i will keep an eye on him. It scared the life out of me i am still shaking as i type this.... |

| That would have scared me to death, too. If he is teething, then I would think it was probably one of his teeth.

| OMG!! I would have been so scared!! I am always keeping an eye on Riley when he is chewing on his bones. Riley will occasionally go into a reverse sneezing fit and it freaks me out!! It probably was just a tooth!! So glad he is okay!! |

| Do you think it could have been like a reverse sneeze thing? Sometimes when Gracie gets excited she starts doing this awful sounding thing that is like half choking and half trying to get a breath. I guess that's not a great description but it is very hard to watch and listen to. It subsides after a minute. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Omg . I went thru a major choking incident a few years ago w/ my Marcel (with a chew treat). I almost lost him. Good for you for reacting quickly...so glad he is okay!

| Been through that with each of my Yorkies! They must have the tiniest little throats - well, I know Scotty and Jilly did as they were so small. But Tibbe who is a mid-sized Yorkie has done that once, too. Just about panicked until he stopped it before I had a chance to get down to him. Watched him every moment next two days and he got kind of creeped out by me following him every where he went. He would look back at me finally kind of "What is your problem???" It got funny - he didn't like constant observation one little bit. But eventually I realized it was just a fluke kind of something and relaxed. He hasn't done it again and yours probably won't either.
