| ![]() I personally could not attend a party if there was even one person there that I found repugnant. Plus, I'd be worried about my own reputation. Birds of a feather, after all.

| ![]() Don't be sad Donna, it's hard when you realize those that you associate yourself with are not what they seem. I'm sure you wouldn't want to associate yourself with the likes of this woman. There are plenty of very passionate people that love their Yorkies like you do that would make far better company. Good for you to want to start a new group and being willing to find like minded people. Like 107barney said....birds of a feather. Grow wings you will soar ![]()

![]() A lot of people on here gave you great tips for meet-ups. I'd love to attend a meet-up because I think it'd be so much fun for Louie. I'm not really a person to do crafts either but maybe wine or margaritas! ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Our meetup is awesome. Everyone swaps advice and some swap clothes that are too wee, we do pot lucks and Halloween and Christmas and big outdoor treks for the dogs when the weather is great. I love my my meetup group, it's not just a socialization tool for the dogs but great for the owners too |

| ![]() reading alot of post from different people i have discovered that some of us on here cares nothing about our furbies and its all about breeding/profit. also there are alot of people who love their babies and want nothing but the best for them reguardless of the cost for their well=being.. u will hear me refer to my yorkies as furbies because thats exactly wut they are to me.. my fur babies...i asked about a meet up group near me or if someone wanted to start one, but i would be purple in the face if it was ran or organized by someone who saw my babies as dollar signs.. what ever happened to our furbies having fun with other furbies while we watched.. they watch us all the time. its harder on me now to load 3 yorkies in my truck along with an infant a toodler and 2 teenagers but i refuse to have them stay alone in my house if im not going to be there to watch them for a lenght of time. an to hear ppl have them only to breed or go to a gathering just to recuit new breeders is sickening to me..i have let relationships go in the past because they saw my babies as PETS or Dogs. so i know i couldnt be a part of an organization that did the same.. sorry for the input, but it was on my brain so i came out of my mouth..

After how vocal you have been about other tiny breeders, I was really surprised by your response. I really expected you either to be going to another group or to not have known about the breeding habits. You're are right, you can be friends with whomever you like.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some of these meetups like the Tenisha one's sound like Yorkie parties, you know what I mean like TUPPERWARE PARTIES, Yorkie parties, again just to further their pocketbooks they prey on naive Yorkie lovers eh, why waste my time there are those that could care less about the behind the scenes torture of YORKIES by horrible breeders....go ahead further their cause, I wonder do you get a free yorkie or a extra money to buy your Yorkie some more froofroo clothing??? just wonderin...

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | ![]() I've started a couple wildly successful meetup groups -- first a big-dog meetup, then a 25-pounds and under little dog meetup. It started out by word of mouth -- 3-4 friends committed to a time, day and location, then each of them started spreading the word. Before long, we had about 15-20 people who were interested. I started a closed Facebook group that allows us to communicate and organize, post pictures and video, etc. It also gives me a place to publish the guidelines for the group -- immunizations, scoop the poop rules, etc. No dues. We're all equals and friends. In addition, I post pictures on my FB page of the meetups, which further spreads the word and draws in new members. I recently discovered there are vets and obedience trainers in town recommending our group to people with dogs who need socialization help. We now have 40+ members, and 10-15 show up on any given day. Since we don't have any fenced dog parks, we meet at a little-used fenced ballpark at a park. With no organized little-league or softball teams there, we're welcome. On special occasions, we'll even rent the space from the parks department. In winter, we meet at a doggy daycare for a minimal donation. This will be our third year for the little dog group. The best part is, the dogs love it. My dogs know what "meetup" means, and they can't wait to go and hang out with their friends.

I think meetups are fine, actually great, I belong to several- Scrabble, theology, book share, animal shelter groupies, coffee, potluck, and a volunteer group where we visit AIDS patients who are at the end...so obviously, I love meet up groups. Really, I have no idea what you are talking about. p.s. I PURCHASED MY YORKIES too, 2,500 and 1,500, infact I am well over 30,000 invested in them, whats your point? Are you referring to rescues? or am I assuming again??
