Our puppy is about 15 weeks old and only barks when left alone. I'm hoping that's his only hot button.

I got Sophie Kate when she was 3 months old, it took her exactly 15 minutes to start barking and has not stopped yet.

You should knock on wood and hope your baby did not hear that you noticed the lack of barking.

I agree with your husband. Your baby has his own line that he will bark for...be thankful that line has not been breached.

Brody didn't bark hardly at all...at first...either. Then we got Mia and she taught him to bark...at every sound and every thing. So now, when a kitty jumps down and makes that soft little thud on the floor...! When one of them sees one of us coming around a back corner of the house...! When the monsters (garbage cans) are put out by the street...? When the (monsters) garbage cans are NOT out by the street anymore...? When either sees a bicyclist riding down the street...! And, Mia continues to "huff" and/or "chuff" lonnggg after the barking is over and the "threat" (see above) is over and done with and long gone.

Okay...you get the picture, so repeat after me: "All hail the quiet Yorkie!"

ZoE hardly made a peep for months....then she learned how to bark. Now she won't shut up!!! She barks at her own reflection in anything, mirror, window, stainless appliances, fireplace glass, etc. She barks at animals on tv, people walking outside, squirrels & birds she see out the window, and she went absolutely nuts the other night barking at a moth that was flying around an outside light.

And this makes me feel horrible to type, (like I'm saying I don't like my child's voice...) but I can't stand the sound of her bark It's not a cute lil yip like my last yorkie....it's a full-on dog bark. If she was behind anything other than a glass door, so you couldn't see her...you'd be afraid to open the door if you heard her bark. She sounds like she means business.

Enjoy the quiet & be thankful your pup isn't barking...YET
