New to YT and need some advice. Hi!! My name is Jeran and I am new to YT. I am the proud mommy of a smart, aborable, loving, mommys boy Yorkie furbaby named Gizmo. He is my world and I am his! He makes me smile when there is nothing to smile about. Recently my family and I decided to start searching for Gizzy a forever friend to come join our family. I inquired on many different puppies on several different websites, and was checking my email for what seemed like ever hour for weeks. I looked at some very cute furrys but either the price wasnt right or they where to far away. I finally recieved a email from a girl named Jessica Mellan that said she recently had aquired 2 (girl and boy) Yorkie puppies from a cousin that had just recently pasted away. She and her brother had tried to care for these babies but with their life styles just couldnt give them the love and attention they deserved and needed. After the counsel of their pastor, friends and family they decided to give these babies away for FREE in honor of their cousin. She sent pics of her, her brother, and family and friends with the adorable 2 lovies. All I needed to do was email her back and explain why I wanted the puppies and assure her that they would be loved and well taken care of. I wrote her back and was sure she and her family would pick us to have the precious lil ones. I was right or so I thought I was. She email me back and said they had decided to give us the puppies under the condition that we stayed in touch and promised to send them monthly pics of the babies. I concurred of course. We were so excited!! She said she needed my info to give to the shipping agent. Understandable. That she would be taking the puppies there within the hour and they (shipping agent) would be contacting me for payment of shipment which was $400. The puppies were to be on the next flight out and would arrive to me be morning. At this point something was odd to me.. Cant say what but it was.. So I asked if she would call me. No response, so i sent another email with the info she requested because it was just general info. She replied and said that she was on her way to shipping place and would email me after she had gave them my info and her end was done. Then she said to make sure I emailed her after the agent had called and they had processed my payment and to please guaranty that the babies would be taken care of. Never saying anything about the previous email about speaking in person. At this point I was sure it was a scam. I wrote one last email and said that I needed her to guaranty me the puppies and to please call me or send me her number so I could call her that I was begining to suspect fraud. Again no responce, havent heard from her or the "shipping agent" since. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Now Im not sure where to go from here they really dont have much of my info but they do have my name, address, and phone number. Dont know what they can do with that but it makes me feel a little uneasy. Any advice or story of someone going threw something similar and what they did will be greatly appreciated. Thanx Everyone! - Jeran and Gizmo

| Yup, sounds like a typical scam. Glad you caught on before you paid out any money

I've heard of very similar scams here more than once. You are probably fine since you didn't give them any money or account numbers. Your name and phone number they probably won't do anything with, their goal is the 'shipping fees' I'm so glad you caught onto this before they got any of your money. On a lighter note, welcome to YT!!

yep scame. Word of advice never buy a dog from someone unless you actually speak to them on the phone. I don't think I would have a dog shipped unless it was from a reputable breeder. Also I know it is tempting when you see these dogs for low low prices but in the long run youn are going to be out alot more money because 9 out of 10 times the are very unhealthy

The internet is full of these types of scams. The scammers have gotten so lazy they are stealing each others puppy pictures, pictures that they undoubtedly stole from someone else. When I was in puppy search mode I ran into more that one of these scams, one was from Cameroon of all places. No reason that would make you suspicious, huh? Good thing you kept your wits about you and didn't get burned.
