| outdoor flea treatment??? I was wondering if anyone has found anything that helps to prevent fleas from comming in when my furbaby goes outside? I want something I can buy at a pet store or walmart that's not to expencive and if possible something that won't make me have to cage my cats and outside dog.

| I use this stuff out in my yard. They also have a pellet form that you can get at Home Depot, It is rather expensive, but it works and it is pet friendly. We get wasps and bees in our grass, and this was a life saver!! It lasted about 6 months! Insect Killer Concentrate for Lawns and Landscapes (32 oz. fluid concentrate) Safe Pesticides for Home | EcoSMART Organic Insecticide Bug Spray Here is the Home Depot link http://www.homedepot.com/buy/outdoor...es-188567.html

| In the house we use home defense by ortho. We've thought about spraying a part of the yard that I put Bella's pen up on. But I'm still concerned about the toxins. The Home Defense is suppose to be safe for pets and small animals. |

We weren't really have trouble anywhere but the grass and around the house so that is the area we focused on. You can spray the bug spray anywhere really- Any where you are having problems I would use it This stuff is amazing! It is a really good product. If you have gaps in your deck you can sprinkle some of the Granules down under the deck!

| How Long Does it Last? Like any pest control maintenance schedule, it will depend on your local insect & critter population. Critters like raccoons, opossum & squirrels are known carriers of parasites like fleas. The southern United States, tropical & coastal regions should treat the outdoor environment with our organic pesticide every 30 days. Insects thrive in moist, warm, shady areas. Parasites thrives on warm blooded mammals but can lay dormant for months at a time without a "meal". In general, 30-45 day preventative treatment is the best practice and usually the cheapest solution to lawn and garden pest management. I found this online.
