We took her to the vet yesterday to get her checked out and get her shots ad weighed in only at under a pound. Ive seen hr siblings andher parents an they are beautiful puppies. She is the smallest one and theonly one of the liter whose hair hasnt grown yet. Will her hair grow? | Tiny Your baby is small for 8 weeks. Make sure she gets enough food and stays warm enough. Be aware of low blood sugar. It is going to take extra measures to keep her healthy. Tinies can grow up and be healthy, they just need a lot of extra care. I am sure her hair will grow out fine. She is so young it is hard to know what the hair is going to be like. They usually shed their puppy coats anyway. Good luck.

| Congratulations on your first baby! As you have never owned a dog before, and you now have a Yorkie that is very tiny, you need to immediately get reference books to help you through this! I always suggest "Yorkies for Dummies" which is available at Petco as well as Amazon.com....You must keep that baby warm and you must be able to recognize hypoglycemia if you are faced with it. Immediately have a tube of Nutra-Cal on hand, to give the baby if her blood sugar drops....you put a 1/2 inch dab on your little finger and put it in her mouth, on the roof of her mouth, if she staggers, or looks drunk, or gets very listless....is she eating well? She must get enough food...and you have to be certain that she is...just put down measured amounts of food, so you can see that she is eating. Get that book immediately and start reading so you know exactly what you are dealing with when you have a tiny Yorkie baby. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 03-05-2012 at 10:21 AM. | Congratulations on your new addition. Your baby is too young to have been taken from it's mother. It is very small because it is an infant and should still be with it's mom and siblings. Please take special care of your pup, it will need extra attention. You should post some pictures!
