My first Yorkie I have had have a docked tail, but that was back in the late 80s. I am so glad it came to law in UK that no docked tails are allowed except for some working dog breeds. My puppy girl wagging her tail with proud and I can't wait for the fur in her tail grow longer and I am sure she will have a beautiful feathery tail.

Sadie's tail was docked WAY to short...I bought Lillie from the same breeder and asked her not to dock so short so Lillie has a little more than a nub...Bentley's tail, is docked but is about 2 inches long....I LOVE IT! sticks straight up!!...although I think ALL are adorable my preference is a docked tail.

Actually the dogs that have the little tiny tails have been done wrong. They are supposed to be a "medium" length. There are a lot of greed breeders out there doing their own docking. They could seriously hurt a pup by docking too short.

I am ashamed to say this but I thought my first Yorkie came like that...umm as in born that way. I think I just gagged a little knowing my Jazzy's tail was chopped off. ARHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

my three have their tails, one of my girls wags it so hard it wiggles her whole body her nick name is wiggle bum lol

Welcome to YT. Natural tails are beautiful too.
Some of us have Yorkies with a natural tail. Some of us are working to get the AKC and local clubs to accept, allow, and promote natural ears and tails. Right now Yorkies with natural (not docked) tails can not compete in bench shows. IMHO only things that affect health should be corrected with surgery ! Other breeds are still having ears docked so they conform to their breed standards. I hope that this will soon be an option, then finally not acceptable at all in the show ring !

When I saw Joel at 3 days old at the breeders I was like "So they are born with nubby tails!" Lol

I have 2 boys with full tails, and 4 girls with docked tails. One was docked too short but the other 3 are docked at the length required by the standard. I love them all the same.
