| If it is the regular J&J baby shampoo then it is very harsh. Not even PH balanced. Look for a puppy shampoo or a conditioning shampoo that is tearless. |

| Hmm... I would love to hear which shampoo's everyone loves best! I use this purple stuff that my groomer gave me and I LOVE that one. Don't know the name...I need to ask because i would definitely buy it. I have also used Pantene Pro-V Ice 2 in 1 shampoo plus conditioner. That worked really well too. |

| You need to use a puppy shampoo. Human shampoos are not the same PH and are too harsh for a dog

| I agree with everyone about not using human baby shampoo. Get something formulated for dogs. There are so many great choices out there. I used John Paul tearless on Max for his first year. It cleaned very nicely, but I tried putting a little in my eyes to see if it was tearless. It stung so badly!! I threw away my bottle. I test everything in my eyes. No soap feels good, but some are much worse than others.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Baby shampoo is meant to deal with cradle cap, it's an oily condition, and needs a strong shampoo to deal with it. Baby shampoo will not sting eyes like many of the shampoos of the past, and so people thought it was gentle, but it isn't. There are lots of great shampoos for dogs that smell good, have the right pH, and don't sting eyes. Email the Biogroom company and ask for some samples, they will send you some great shampoos for free. http://www.biogroom.com/

| That is good. I agree, I love the results of the JP products, and they smell great. I could probably use it safely on Teddy's head, but Max is harder to work with in the bath. He doesn't always let me rinse the top of his head down the back of his neck.
