| Suggestions now on Ciarra's topknot? I wrote about Ciarra's lovely long thick topknot being cut, actually it is was thinned out to practically nothing. We have 1/4 inches sticking up all over her head then some of it is 6 inches long. I can't even pull it up without it falling out it is so thin now. Would you consider trying to cut some of it down to grow faster? It would have been easier for it to grow evenly if she would have just cut 4 inches off. Just trying now to see the best course of action. I keep thinking of human hair and how the hairdresser has told me to keep the ends cut to make it grow faster. I appreciate everyone who posted on this with love and compassion. This is just driving me crazy. Then I will put this to rest. ~Jeanna~ Ciarra and Bentley's mom |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Cutting hair doesn't stimulate hair growth, when your hairdresser told you that, she meant cutting split end off is a good idea. A split end can unravel and break much shorter that the 1/8 or 1/4 inch she would cut. Your dog probably doesn’t have split ends, but I think you’re right, cutting the topknot a little more even, might help it look better.

| Don't cut it! It will grow out and then you can trim it up a little bit. |

| Wow. I'd be tempted to cut that groomers hair like that! Cutting hair to make it grow faster has to do with keeping the split ends cut off so it won't keep breaking. I don't think that would apply to the top of your dog's head. If it's easier for you to deal with you could make it all one length. It's such a difficult decision. Either way you are going to have a hard time putting it up. What a shame. |
