| Plain dog? I was just reading down in the YT Gift Exchange etc., I'm very afraid. I don't know how to talk yorkietalk! I am not a frue frue kind of Yorkie Owner, no long hair, no ribbons or bows, no shoes or boots, no scarves..no elaborate nothing. I love my girls and do put sweaters and jammies on them but I'm just not in to all the frue frue, is this a waste of a Yorkie Owner? I love them to death but I just feel like I'm not an average Yorkie Owner? But I love ya all!!

| Ha, you aren't alone. I do spend a lot of money on Jackson but it's mostly things for my sake - collars (he doesn't care what kind he has on, haha) or fancy food bowls and ID tags and harnesses and things. We don't really do many clothes. Have a few cute jackets for him in the winter but we haven't had a cold winter so he really hasn't worn any all year. A few hoodies for chilly days, or a shirt for a holiday. But 98% of his life he's "naked" -- hehe. But, yeah, no bows, or shoes, or jammies (well, he has one pair for Christmas from T. Bumpkins! ) Heck, he barely even gets brushed (keep the hair short) and he really only gets a quick brush-over for his tail and face once every 2 weeks along with a quick bath that takes no more than 10 minutes. Jackson lives an amazing life so he's certainly not Yorkie-deprived, in fact I think he'd HATE it if we took hours on grooming, or dressing up every day, or brushing, or putting bows in his hair, LOL. He'd much rather be rolling in the mud, diving in the pool, or playing at the dog park.

| I dont do clothes except an occasional tshirt. I do put bows in Jewels hair but the next time shes groomed Im gonna have the groomer cut the topknot out because I just dont do it everyday so mine are kinda plain. We are more active outdoorsy type of people so the fru fruing doesnt really fit our lifestyle. I do have dresses for Jewels that I got yrs ago. She doesnt like to wear them though

In fact this an open invitation to anyone who would like to get rid of those pesky bows, and bother some sweaters and if anyone wants to get rid of Susan Lancie Harness I will take one of those too! Just kidding...not. My husband will not let me full fill my fantasy of froufing up my pups. Is froufing even a word? well...you know what I mean. In my husbands defense we do have 4 children and one of them is in college. __________________________________________________ _____________ lmao... I was told "Mia won't wear a top knot" and, while her previous mommy dressed her in clothes, she said Mia didn't like to wear them. Brody, I am pretty certain, never wore clothes or top knots. I wanted to see their full coats before deciding on a 'favorite' cut for them...top knots are a necessity. Both wear them fine...fuss with them minimally occasionally. Clothes started with jackets on 12/23/11. Turns out, THEY LOVE CLOTHES!!! Maybe it's all the attention, but they will help dress themselves...shove their heads into them, and if you are not fast enough at dressing them, will pull the clothes out of your hands to get into them. When summer comes, they will wear fewer clothes most likely, because it is so hot here. I raised two boys...never had a girl...and am not a girly-girl myself...tomboy, actually...and can barely do my own hair! I am learning all this fru fru stuff myself...have studied actually...have bought bow-making stuff...have made bows...dusted off the sewing machine...dragged out the crocheting stuff...it's like I am a different person...'possessed' by Yorkies...whatever that means...to satisfy THEIR craving for embellishments! I do, however, make sure they have only a band or scrunchie for the top knot when we are not there with them...wouldn't want them to eat a metal clip, get tangled up, or catch a claw. When we are gone, and it's chilly, there are lots of fleece blankets for snuggling into instead.
