| When it comes to food for your furry friend, I think for kibble, the 1st two ingredients should be meat or fish based and no grains present. From there it's what your dog likes. There are places around here who give out free sample packs. I was able to take one per day and see how Bailey responded. He definitely wolfed down one of the brands faster than any of the others. At the end of the day we don't eat the food, they do. so it helps to find something they like. |

| And I've heard that Diamond uses the same ingredients for the foods they make for other companies as they use in their own foods. Who knows for sure unless you're standing in their plant and watch what they do. Basically, these companies are outsourcing manufacturing of their kibble to Diamond. BTW, Chicken Soup IS a Diamond brand, just like Premium Edge, Diamond Naturals, and Taste of the Wild. Diamond also makes the often overpraised Kirkland dog food (yes it's a decent food for the price).

| I think vets recommend the RX science diet so they also recomend the regular science diet. The ingredients arent the greatest in comparison to some other foods however there are some dogs that have to have the RX food it is the only food that they can eat that is right for them since they have a particular illness. When chachi was a pup and wouldnt eat the vet gave me an rx food that had alot of calories in it for him to eat and he did eat it even though I couldnt get him to eat other foods. You can have a food with the most outstanding ingredients money can purchase and if your dog wont eat it it isnt going to do any good for you or your dog

| That is correct. Keno will only eat Royal Canin, not one of the best and very expensive but that is all that he will eat. |

| The only thing wrong with it is it has corn it which can give some dogs not all the itchies. So if your dog doesnt have any allergies with it there is nothing wrong with feeding it

| I like Royal Canin, have always fed it to my dogs, some people think it is to expensive for what they think is the quality of the kibble. I do not agree, I pay the price because that is what my dogs like to eat. |

For information about the quality of dog foods and how to find a reputable company, I highly recommend this website that is maintained by a veterinary nutritionist whose credentials in animal nutrition are extensive. Welcome to Pet Diets
