Is allergy testing worth it?

If you like I'll contact the dermatologist here, and ask for a referral for you to the best dermo in Ottawa; let's see what/who he comes up with.

No additional fee on top of the consult-as no additional tests had to be run What I liked about him, is that he used the results from the tests my other vet had run; had obviously in advance of my consult actually had read the damn things ( a rarity I've found out). He spent at least twenty minutes throughly examining Magic. From teeth - eyes - ears - paws. Took pulses at various places on his body. Another twenty minutes or so going over a through symptom picture/progression - another 10 minutes discussing his ddx'd and why nothing more needed to be done. A few minutes telling me if this or this or that happens, then come back.

My Cali has severe scratching and has a very sensitive tummy. I had the allergy testing done several years ago after trying the food elimination diet, and the antihistamines with no relief. The testing didn't come up with anything she was allergic to. I had the food and environmental allergy testing done and it was 300.00 back then. After reading about Atopica on here I asked her vet and she put her on it and Cali has been doing great on it for years. I hope you can get some answers and relief for your baby.

Yeah that would be greatly appreciated if you could find out who they'd recommend in ottawa. I can also ask the BF, cause his aunt lives in Etobikco (sp?) maybe we could swing by Toronto and visit her if there is a huge price difference. The other thing I was thinking, is I'm applying for law school up there, if I were to get accepted to Osegood I'd be flying up there to view the school, I'll just bring Harley along with me. (but I suppose I need to get in first :P)

Sure give me a couple of days to get an answer for you. Osgoode is a very good law school. Have you done the LSATS yet? I hear that the tutorial is very good - about a $1K I think.

Yes wrote the LSAT, didn't do terribly great. But my marks are pretty good, so hopefully it's enough. I'm going to re-apply if I don't get in and re-write the LSAT, unfortunately my score was low cause the month before Harley started with all these problems and my car had a major breakdown. So I had to work double the time to pay bills. I can't actually write that on an application, but I know I could ace the thing if I had actually studied as planned. I was just WAY too stressed, and countless times I trek to the library only to get called and have to rush Harley to the vet :s
