| Detroit area 911 helps save dogs life :) The story says this happened Christmas day, but it was on the Detroit news tonight. A woman called 911 when her 10-pound dachshund chewed on a present and was choking on a piece of gift wrapping type material. They followed the news story with details on how to do the Heimlich maneuver on dogs. I was happy to hear that the dispatcher still tried to help when she realized the 911 call was for a dog & not a person . Police dispatcher gives choking dog gift of life - dailytribune.com
