| America's Pet Registry? So, I've been meaning to look into registering Maggie. I knew I had a form for it with all her stuff. However, the form is for America's Pet Registry. I've never heard of this Also, I have a certificate of her pedigree. Anyone heard of America's Pet Registry? and does this mean i can't register her with anyone else?

| Im not sure,,but I think it is just a registry thing,, nothing w/ pedigree, Im not sure, But I did something like it once,, its on file, for people to check it, if they find your dog. etc.. I think,,I might be wrong.

| You will not be able to register your baby with the AKC. You will need to check other registries that you are interested in to see if they will accept the American Pet Registry as a accepted registry for dual registration. |

| I know just a bit about APRI. One of the major pet stores joined up with the registry--the "spiel" they gave included a form that you could use to register your new pup with America's Pet Registry, Inc. At the time I learned of APRI (June 2005), the website was designed differently than it is now. That being said, the people on the chat lines were, for the most part, just delightful. However, it appeared to me that most were breeders, not merely owners. This may have changed now as the site is quite different and I haven't been able (or perhaps had time) to learn how to navigate it. And now for the killer comment--everyone who "spoke" to me either remained absolutely silent about AKC or openly challenged AKC membership importance. Apparently, AKC membership is much more expensive than APRI. Depending on your situation, this may be good or bad for you! |
