| Should I neuter my dog when my other dog has been spayed? My female has been spayed and I was deciding not to neuter my male dog. So unneutered dog won't mate the spayed female right? If he want to humping that is fine but do not penetration. So any suggestion? Is ok I do not neuter my dog? |

| Neuter your male. Less chance he'll be aggressive, less chance of marking, less chance of him trying to mate with females in the area that are in heat. You'll be doing your part in controlling a possible unwanted and dangerous pregnancy. Bob Barker wasn't kidding when he said it on the Price is Right.

| I would if I were in your position. Neutering can keep you male from marking all over your house and it can keep them from wanting to run. A male dog can father pups with other females if he were to get out or near a female in heat even if just for a minute. There are several reasons to neuter a male dog. |

| After hearing all the stories about how a male dog has hurt them selves chasing after a female in heat I would neuter him. Plus what if someone stole him or got him if he ran off and used him in a puppy mill?

| I would neuter him. Honestly I have found animals to be much better pets when they arent consumed with getting out so they can mate. Also marking issues I dont have in my house but my neighbor that didnt neuter her pets does and her house smells and she is a clean person so she just cant keep up with it

| I am planning on neutering my males as well, but I am worried about the pain involved for them. Do they do fairly okay after surgery or is it really hard on them? |

| Gizmo was out the first day and just laid down. But the next day he was like a bat out of hell. Trying to bounce around and play. So to answer your question, no they aren't in alot of pain. Most vets do send home pain meds and we only used them one day because Gizmo also had alot of baby teeth removed.

| All three of my boys are neutered and the only one who needed pain meds was Scooter. Little Bit whined a whole lot but the next day he was fine and as fat as Thor goes, you would never have knows he had just been neutered.

| Oz was fine after his neuter. For one day he was a little "slow", but then right back to his normal self. I can't remember now if he was on meds at all. He didn't seem to show any discomfort at all though.

| That's great. Thanks. I didn't want to consider it and then see them suffer from it. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | How old is your male? If he is a mature dog, I would likely neuter him. Even though your female has been spayed, she may not appreciate the constant advances of an intact male, regardless if you think the humping is fine or not.
