YT 2000 Club Member | Back With Questions Not a newbie, but it's been quite some time (over a year) since I've posted here, now back with questions. We recently (about a month ago) brought a lil yorkie girl into our family, long story short on her back ground, she spent the first 6 months or more of her life in a wretched puppy mill , only to be sprung by a lady who wanted her just to use her as a breeding machine Our lil girls name is Jasmine (AKA Jazzie) and is only a year and a half old and weighs in at just 4 pounds now. When she came to us, she only weighed 3 pounds. Why ANYONE would try and breed such a lil one is so beyond me.... When Jazzie wouldn't produce pups, the lady no longer wanted her, so she got the boot, so much for being a loved family member hu?.... I want to get Jazzie spayed, but when we first got her, doc said he'd like for me to try and get some weight on her before she goes under to be spayed, so, I was super excited when we went back to the vet and she gained a pound She was on crap food and I switched her over to Royal Canin 28, done research on that food and although I don't think it's a horrible food, I feel Wellness is much better so I'm in the process of slowly switching her over, so far, so good. The lady said she was pure yorkie and had AKC papers but refused to give them to me. When I first checked about Jazzie, the lady said she was just giving her away for free to get her out of there and gone, of course when I got there, she changed her mind and wanted a butt load of money for her. I told her I'd give her $100 for her and not a penny more, I was paying to get her all UTD on shots, paying to get her spayed, had just spent a bunch on her the night before getting her/her own kennel, blanket, food, toys, etc. etc. etc. As I was standing there holding my ground, I was praying to God the lady wasn't going to call my bluff (she'd threatened she'd just toss her on Craigs List if I wouldn't give her what she wanted.) In the end, she decided to take the $100 and I got Jazzie and left as quickly as possible before she changed her mind again. Her reason for not producing and giving me Jazzies AKC papers was (I wouldn't give her what she wanted for her.) Whipty doo, I don't give a flying crock about the papers anyhow, they mean absolutely nothing to me, she's not going to be bread and used as a money making machine, she's going to be loved Anyhow, my first question is this: 1. Does Jazzie look pure yorkie to you? It doesn't matter to me, just curious. 2. If you think she is pure yorke, is she a silky yorkie or what? Sorry, I've never had a pure yorkie before so I'm pretty clueless as to the cotton coat ones and the silkies. 3. How often should she be bathed? 4. How long will it take her hair to grow out in the back on her tooshy? The lady said she held Jazzie while the males took turns at her got tired of holding her hair and just whacked it off. It's all uneven and stuff (again, I don't care, just curious as to how long it'll take to grow back out?) 5. Has anyone every used the Tropiclean tooth gel? I got it last night and supposedly you don't actually have to use a toothbrush with it, the gel coats the teeth and removes tarter build up. She's so not a fan of having her teeth brushed (which is why I decided to try this gel, no need for brushing.) Mags LOVES to have hers done with a tooth brush, even holds the brush like she's helping, lol. I think this is long enough for now, will go ahead and post and wait for some replies. Nice to be back, hope to run into some old friends and make new ones. Off to get everything updated here and start adding pics. Oh, one more thing, how do I delete an album here? Can't get it figured out |

| Hi and Welcome Back to YT! 1. Does Jazzie look pure yorkie to you? It doesn't matter to me, just curious. Yes. 2. If you think she is pure yorke, is she a silky yorkie or what? Sorry, I've never had a pure yorkie before so I'm pretty clueless as to the cotton coat ones and the silkies. She does appear to have a silky coat. 3. How often should she be bathed? Weekly or every two weeks 4. How long will it take her hair to grow out in the back on her tooshy? The lady said she held Jazzie while the males took turns at her got tired of holding her hair and just whacked it off. It's all uneven and stuff (again, I don't care, just curious as to how long it'll take to grow back out?) probably about 4-8 months... good nutrition will help 5. All tooth gels work with enzyme action and are all about the same... good choice for pups who won't tolerate brushing Good Luck with your new baby... she's beautiful!
