Funny words your YT knows Max and Teddy know "pizza" means they are going to get a tiny shred of parmesan cheese. I will say, "I'm going to make pizza" and they come running and stand in front of the cabinet that holds the pizza pan. They know "payment" means a kibble for doing something good. When they hear payment, they stand in front of the cabinet with the kibble can. What funny words do your YTs know? |
When I say "who needs their medicine?" they come running into the kitchen for a tint scoop of cottage cheese or a dab of peanut butter. I hide Max's pills that way. Cooper doesn't get any pills but I don't want to leave him out. He gets "fake medicine". :D |
hmmm, the funniest thing is that Hot Rod loves to lay in the sun. If I'm in another part of the house he's usually with me so when I see that the sun is shining into the living room, I will tell him to go lay in his sun and off he goes. It's about the only time he will not be my shadow, lol |
When I say, "wanna go for a walk," Eddie hides because he doesn't like putting on booties in winter. But when I say "Let's go to work," he comes to me because he knows he's going to get treats at his therapy dog visit and he only has to wear a coat. Same goes for when I say "Wanna go for a car ride?" |
well Mine do know some words that are cute but they also know some cute things like to bark and let us know a cat needs in |
Mine know when I say "salad" that they get their veggies. The German vets here recommend supplementing their diets with veggies so we give them baby carrots. I know they mean cooked veggies because of the whole cellulose thing but mine only like crunchy veggies. Also mine never could figure out the word "no" so we use an "aaaht" sound or the German slang word for no pronounced "neigh". We also use the German word for sit too since they never got the word sit. Sometimes I wonder if my furbutts only speak German. |

My old horse trainer was Swiss, so we rode horses that "spoke" Swiss/German, It's odd looking at my riding style it's very European, and I occaisionally would find myself saying the few words I knew in Swiss too . |
Bubba and Sissy know the word "carrot" and they run to the refrigerator. They also understand "go get a drink", "want to go for a walk/ride",and Bubba understands "go get me a ball", "no not that one, the other one". Of course they both understand "do you want a treat". They also understand when I say, "Mommy is going to work-go say goodbye (they run to the living room, get up on the chair by the window and watch me leave)". My dh says they also understand "it's time for Mommy to come home (and they wait by the kitchen door)". Bubba understands "want to go see Dr. S----, he loves the vet." . They both understand "want a bath (because they both disappear)". Heaven know what else they understand, sometimes it's scarey. They also recognize places. They know the road to the park, the road to my daughters house and our road and get excited when we turn onto those roads. |
Remy's vocabulary is actually quite impressive. He knows quite a few words, you can practically have a conversation with him at times "ready to go" = heading out the door "visit" = going to see a friend or family "travel" = getting on a plane and in his celltei 'going to the office" = he is going with us to work "in the car" = pretty straightforward, lol "overnight" = means he is staying overnight with my parents bc we are traveling on business "going to get coffee" = a walk to coffee shop "remy's shirt" = he needs a sweater bc its cold "visitors" = we are having people over "i have work" = no playing and he should lay down b/c I have work to do "chicken" = we are making a whole chicken for dinner and he will get a bite "what are you supposed to do" = he should sit bc we are in the elevator "go say hi" = he can great a stranger "go get your toy" = we will play fetch with him "hurry up" = he is taking too long sniffing around and should just do what he has to do :) He knows family and friend's names He knows all the standard stuff like treat, play, food, water, potty, sit, lay down, outside, etc. |
I messed up the command rollover so I had to use "flip" instead. When I say treat she runs to the cabinet and barks like crazy. When I say walkies she cries until she's out the door because I take too long lol. And when she gets something she's not too happy about for dinner like liver or other organ meat she sits there till I ask "are you done?"- then she quickly gobbles it up. |
If I ask mine if they "wanna coke?" they dance, prance and pace, until I take them to Sonic for a diet coke. But I get the coke and they get a treat. :D |
Mine disappears when she hears the word "work". Can't say I blame her! Its because I say "I've gotta go to work now" and she wants to hide because she knows she's going in the kennel. Although she loves going in there when I happen to be in that room. She knows lots of words & phrases, but I think it funny that she knows "teethy time" she's going to get her teeth brushed, and while I'm brushing them I'll say "flip side" and she'll change sides so I can do the other side of her mouth. |
Ready, walkies, car, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Levi, Aunt Katrina, treats, breakfest, dinner, let's go see the kids, and the big bad crate!! He also knows, "Let's go to bed" when I say this, he'll walk into our bedroom and sit at the floor near the bed looking up at it and waiting to be lifted onto it. Little stinkers are too smart. |
Rocco understands a lot of words and full sentences. Here are a few: "Go wake up Nick" = run to my son's bed and kiss his face until he is awake. Very convenient little trick on school mornings. "Let's go downstairs" = go into finished basement to play ball "Need a bully stick?" = mommy gets a fresh new bully stick "Where's daddy?" = run and find daddy "Night night time" = head to his bed "Wanna go to the bank?" = get ready for a ride through the drive through and get 'bank biscuits', aka junk food "Give mommy hug" = while I am holding him, he immediately rests his head on my shoulder, against the bend of my neck. This is my favorite! |
Mine has just recently learned something I've taught all my babies. "Who's that!?!" Basically used if I hear something strange and want my little alarms to go off. They both get up and do their little growl and looking around then looking at me. hehe Then they start barking their little heads off and end up where I hear the noise coming from. So cute. |
