Any time I start talking with "Do You want?" I get the ultimate head tilt and attention from him. He also knows chicken, puppy chow, carrots, potty, go see grandma. bye-bye, play ball, go to bed, wake up mommy (daddy only says this one). . . . hmmmm he knows quite a bit of words --- When he wants to!!!.:) |
I've been back in school for the last 3 years with many late study nights. Now everytime (no matter what time of day) I shut down my laptop and it makes that little windows shut down sound, Reggie jumps up from wherever he is and barks until I get up to go to bed. He knows the word "bed", too but we think the reaction to the computer is hilarious. His favorite word is "go", which he is aways ready to do, but also loves to hear "we're home" to which he jumps up to look out of the car window. |
Tinkerbell is determined to learn how to talk... actually speak English! It still comes out as barks, but she gets the syllable count right, lol.:D We've been working on 'directions' too. I'll throw her ball out of her sight, and when she goes after it, I give her clues, no, go right, go left, come here, stop, go to the door, etc. It's alot of fun, and a challenge for her.:D |
"Boobies." Don't ask because I don't know where he got it from or why it's so interesting to him. |

Ok, so nothing original, but it's funny how many things our babies have in common. Gracie does the fake piddle for a treat thing - she'll look at me before she squats to make sure I'm paying attention. I always have to check the pee pad before giving her a treat. She also likes to get the mail - it's one of the only times she'll sit still at the door and wait to be picked up so Dad can carry her to the mailbox. Finally, the trade for a treat thing - finally, I can get stuff away from her! So far, she hasn't (I dont' think!) figured that one out well enough to take something in order to get a treat. But it has saved me some shredded kleenex to clean up. |
All your answers made me giggle! My girls know so many as well! "Grandmas" is the major word for us they love going because she has friends for them to play with ! |
On the trading for treats thing - Not a Yorkie but I once had a poodle that would always get whatever we didn't want her to have in order to get a treat. Her favorite was coins. She'd come up to you with a coin in her mouth - sticking out so you could see it. If you ignored her, she would get closer and closer to "show" you the coin. Eventually she would climb up on you and stick the coin out right in your face. If you tried to take it from her without a trade, she would take your hand off. She was a crazy dog - I loved her but she's the reason that I started formal training with my dogs - she was a little out of control! |
Mine know several words and phrases...but the funniest one is "green bean" They can be in a dead sleep and if daddy says green bean, they jump up and go running to the fridge:D |
Brody and Mia know so many words and phrases that we have to s-p-e-l-l at our house for certain things. For example, we cannot use "ride" and "truck" in the same sentence unless they are going to go with us...separate use of both words is ok. Also, Brody knows every one of his toys by name, and will get the one you name. His toys 'live' wherever he was given them, so if he gets the toy in the LR, the toy 'lives' on the loveseat and can be played with anywhere in the room...if on the bed, that is where the toy stays, and if they get mixed up, he will carry them back 'home' again. Mia didn't understand this at first, and would carry them off...Brody would fetch them back where the belonged. |

if Jimmy catches me yawning he tries to jump in my mouth....I swear! boggles my mind! ;) |
I think my two can count. I have a clock that chimes the same tune at the top of EVERY hour. I feed my dogs when I get up, then at 12:00, 5:00 and 10:00 and they know which one is their feeding because they don't pay no mind to that chime at any other time, but when it's the chime of feeding time....well.....let's just say....the world stops until they are fed. So I am pretty sure they have figured out how to count between chimes. LOL |
Trixie knows some of the standard command words...sit, stay etc but one of her favorite words is "snack" ... she runs right over to the cabinet where her treats are kept and wags her tail and turns in circles. She also knows "wanna go for a walk"....and gets very excited anytime we touch her harness, leash, stroller or car seat since she knows we are going out. The fridge thing....I think she has supersonic hearing..cuz she can be asleep on my bed upstairs and if my dh goes near the fridge, she is off that bed and at his feet in an instant! |
