Bourgeois or Too Sensitive?

Oh my goodness, I can't stand when people ask how much I paid for Kiko. I say, she was a gift. She was a gift (and still is) for our 20th anniversary (hubby suprised me with her). I know what he paid, but it is really no one elses business, especially people who aren't asking because they are researching breeders and costs, but just asking to compare what they paid or what they think a yorkie should cost to what you paid.

I get that question A LOT LOT LOT

it starts out with "Wow, what kind of dog is this"
my answer "he's a yorkie, his name is Teddy"
they respond "what? he must be a mix...he can't be a full yorkie, those are only black and tan or grey"
I then explain that Teddy is a parti yorkie and that he has been DNA tested and proven to be full yorkie (not that it's truly their business)
Finally the pièce de résistance "How much did /that/ set you back!?"

I just smile and say "he was a very special gift"
It makes things easier, I mean technically he was a gift..that I paid half of lol

but then sometimes people are like "oh! would you breed him with my yorkie I want colorful ones" and that makes me mad
