Temp has droped!!! Can someone help?????? I am needing some help. I have a yorkie that is due 12-10-05 and her temp. is 99.7 (but she did EAT and big plate of food) if this is so what is the like that she is going to have her puppies?? and do you think that the puppies are going to be ok??? Can someone please help me.... Courtney |

temp Take it again before bed..check her during the night. Take it in the morning again. Sometimes it goes up and down..is it under 100? 100 doesn't get my attention the last weeks..but 98/99 does.. |
Im not a breeder and I dont know much. But if her temp dropped maybe she is going to have her babies in a couple of days. Just keep an eye on her. I answer to bump the post for some of the breeders to see it. Good luck. Please keep us posted. I will have you in my prayer for mama and pups to be ok. |

question She is not in any distress, right? She ate..good sign. No, the pups will not be alright if she whelps now..but she is not showing any signs of whelping as yet..is she digging and nesting? Is she panting and pacing? If not, just watch her..and retake the temp with a digital therometer in the morning. What degree is her temp now..? |
thanks for that..........the only bad thing is that I am not in NC right now I am in TX. So I feel bad that i am not there with her. I have my husband looking after her and hope that he knows what to do...:0( |
She is not pacing and panting as of right now. It is that look that she has right now, as if she knows that something is not right..... I dont know that temp right now, but at 9:00pm it was 99.7. Like I did say she did eat a BIG Plate of dinner. Quote:

pups Is it possible you have the date wrong for whelping? I did not mean to make it sound hopeless..but you realize if she does whelp 11 days early it is unlikely they will live..ever heard it happen..but whatever is going to happen is going to happen and we have little control over these things. |
I understand it is the truth....and i do need the truth now. I now that i don't have it wrong I bred 10-8,9,10-05, and did the date to the due date of the 8,9, and 10th. so right now she should be 53 days. Quote:

days The 8th due date is better, but still not good...sometimes they get taht "hang dog" look a week before..that poor pitiful me look is awful...keep us updated...Good luck |

I am curious too!! I spoke with her on the phone last night before she posted this and she is really worried because she is out of town. Hope she will post an update this morning! IT's 6:30 AM here but I think there is a bit of a time difference where she is. |

How terrible for you that you can't be with her.....you must be just beside yourself.....I have to go to work now but will be anxiously looking for an update when I get home....I really hope everything will be ok....Good luck and prayers will be said here today. |
I think that things are well for now. Her temp. is back up to 100.0 and dont think that she is going to whelp as of yet......I HOPE!!!! Thanks for all the info I will let you all know how things are going, but I am with you all I am in TX. and she is in NC with her daddy. Thanks for all the help |

she si not doing that.....as of yet. I hope that she will not do that and she is just not feeling good. Poor baby is so fat she has got to be hateing life right now. |

A pups temp is going to vary, just like ours does. When it drops below 99 or when you see that it is staying around 98-97 you will know that anytime you will have pups. She will have heavy panting, and nesting. Just try to keep her in a low key inviroment and dont do to many walks or a lot of exercise. If her body is trying to go into labor this may boost it. thanks for the info it was last night a 99.0 and now it is at 100.0. It is that look the she is doing. that BIG BROWN eyed look, like she is not feeling good. I am not with her right now becasue I am in TX and she is in NC with her daddy, so that is what I a scared of, he has been told what to do if something should happen and has two phone numbers of people that will come over and help if that is needed. Are you expecting to be home before the due date (atleast 4 days early)? You need to know some warning signs that something is wrong. If you aren't going to be there then your husband needs to learn and to get a vet that will make him/herself available 24/7. Hopefully these pups will stay in there atleast for another full week. They develop so quickly and every single day is crucial. You need to know that any dark (green or black) discarge is a bad sign and the dog needs a vet immediately. Please keep us posted and I hope all goes well and naturally with healthy pups and mom being the end result. |
