| This is a Grooming Question, but... It seems more people go to the General Discussion threads than the grooming ones. This is Brutus, he has been groomed once and it was a nightmare as he ended up looking like a rodent. I have a mobile groomer coming on Monday and I want to keep his body hair med. length but am concerned about the hair around his eyes. As you can see it looks like he has huge eyebrows and I love to see his little eyes. I guess his hair is in the "in-between" stage? Not long enough to pull back and topnot and is now to long? Suggestions on cuts, especially on the face?

| I always do a close cut around the eyes, and leave the top parts long to go in a top knot be back in a second I'll go see if I can find a pic of Harley's face.

| Ok this isn't a great pic of his face (only one I had cropped small enough), but if you look at his eyes, it's all trimmed short there, and the rest is pulled long into a bow.

| I think my groomer uses the clippers on his face until she reaches the topknot hair.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | You might be happier letting the hair grow out, some of it will go towards his mustach, and some will go up into his topknot. Petsilk topknot gel is made for this and it helps while you are growing the hair out. Some people say that they use vaseline, but I like the topknot gel better. If you keep it clipped, you might have to clip it weekly to really keep it out of his eyes.

The mustache is an issue as well as I feel like I am pulling his hair out of his mouth and am not sure if he likes it either (I wouldn't). I was thinking of a body longer version of Brit's Jackson. His little face looks like such a guy and as much as I want a topnot, I don't know if this will go over well with the DH or Brutey.

| Oh my, no I didn't enlarge the pic to see the inverted "v", just thought - wow, what an identical twin we have! But now that I saw it, I totally understand what you mean - and thank you so much I do think that will make a huge difference.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Okay, I'm glad you understand, it's really pretty easy if you get a firm grip on their chin hair. Actually I think Joey looks a lot like your boy, the Ninja knot does make them look a little more feminine, but don't tell the hubby that!

| Awww, he reminds me a lot of Jackson actually! I think Jackson's face cut would go nice on him. The first photo was when it was a bit longer, and I usually cut it at this point. I guess it's about Brutus' length. You can see in the second photo, how it's trimmed when he first gets a haircut. I never let those eye hairs grow out, never thought about since I don't do a topknot, I am not exactly sure where that hair would GO if I let it grow out?? I will say it grows sooo fast and I prefer them not to be poking him in his eye. So sometimes I trim in between groomings.
