My furkids Donating Member | question about size Morning All and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We recently bought a little boy, Bentley Louis!! It's been a while since we've had a puppy in the house and I'm LOVING IT!! I can't remember what age they stopped growing.....He was 5 months on the 23rd of December and weighed 2.6 lbs....I'm not sure if he's done growing...I don't think he's going to be a big guy but, do any of you have any idea what i should expect his grown up weight to be??? I am trying to fatten him up a bit..His sisters are 7/12 lbs and 6 lbs.. thanks everyone!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | General rule of thumb is to double the 12 week weight and even then it's not totally accurate. I've had pups I expected to weigh 5 - 6 pounds...but they stopped growing. At 5 months I'd still expect a bit more.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Congratulations on your new yorkie boy, how exciting! According to the yorkie growth chart, Bentley Louis should be in the 3-4 pound range. Most of the toy breed pups I've fostered and own have all reached adult weight (size) by about 11-12 months.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If I'm remembering right...it seems like there was growth up to about 5-6 months, then a slow down, then another little growth spurt around 10-12 mths. The later little spurt seemed more evident in Marcel and Pfeiffer, who are smaller. CONGRATS on your new baby, how exciting! I love puppy breath. Soak up that breath while you can.

| How big were the parents? My Teddy is 11 lbs and keeps growing. He is three years old. His parents were about half his size.

My furkids Donating Member | Thank you everyone...I don't think he's going to get very big...breeder said probably around 4 lbs...I was hoping a little bigger but that's ok...He is just a love...I believe his parents are around the 4 -5 lb range..
