| Pita scared the pants off of momma! Last night was the worst scare that I have had with Pita, almost 11 mos. I was busy running around like a chicken with my ma head cut the heck off, wrapping Christmas gifts, cleaning house...you know the drill. Well, my 7 yr old asks if he could go get something out of the car last night, my husband said yes, opens the garage and tells him to lock it and come right back in. So out he went, fetched his toy, and came back in. I think maybe 5 minutes passed and I notice that 'someone' was not at my feet following my every move. I yell out, Pitaaaaaa! nothing. Pitaaaaa. nothing. She is known to push through the gate in the hall to go explore the back of the house. Pitaaaaa. nothing. Instant freak out mode...."WHERE IS PITA, YA'LL???" My 7 year old says, I dunno? He always know where she is....I'm looking everywhere and panicking more and more, then my son says maybe she went out!!!! Me: WHAT!?!?!?! I look at my husband and he goes to look in the garage and I couldn't wait long enough for the garage door to open so I run out the front door yelling PITAAAAA. and nothing. I immediately run back in to get her whistle which we use only when needed to get her to come to us. I run out of the front door blowing the whistle (meanwhile I get the 'what is that idiot doing?' look from a guy walking his dog) and here she comes a running from who knows where!!!!! OH MA GOSH, I go inside and sit down. Heart attack #1 given by Miss Pita prissy pants....praying to never have heart attack #2! |

| Oh I've been there before with Brandi, she got outside and I panicked and almost had a heart attack too. I have never been so scared in my life. Fortunately for me, Miss Thang has to stop and smell every blade of grass so she only got as far as the next door neighbor house. |

| I am so thankful she didn't run off too far....I just sat down on the sofa and she sat on the floor staring up at me with her with her head tilted to one side with this look like "what?!" I felt like giving her this big ole speech about not sneaking out but I was just so glad she was ok, ha. |

| Close call! So glad it worked out! I once was doing the exact same thing getting ready for a birthday party, was in and out the house to the car, Princess disappeared I began freaking out! Calling, squeaking her toy called my Dad to come over from the next block over with his high powered flash light (police issue). I went to put Scoobers and Elvis in their play yard and put my shoes on to head out looking for her in full panic mode- then I see her laying in her "box" just looking around watching the commotion! Nevertheless I will always go outside first-if they are lost in the house they'll turn up and you'll just feel silly-if they did breach the perimeter...you better get out looking. Good job momma, these things happen.

| Wow, that is really scary. So glad that she came when you used the whistle. That is a great idea to teach that! |

| Been there...went to the car to get something, came in and my oldest son is sitting on the couch, jumps up, says "shoot!" and runs out the front door! He spotted her in the front yard!! Shoooooot! Now I am very paranoid about anyone going in and out of the house. Sneaky little pumpkin! Bobbi

Senior Yorkie Talker | That same thing happened to me too... That same thing happened to me a few months ago, Nicky is ALWAYS at my feet, and when I realised he wasn't there I went into panic mode... Only thing is I had my sister telling me to calm down that Nicky was "Just a dog"and to get over it. That ticked me off to no end! Lucky for me he was ok when he came back!! NOT wanting that to ever happen again!! Glad to hear that your baby was ok too!!
