I once was doing the exact same thing getting ready for a birthday party, was in and out the house to the car, Princess disappeared I began freaking out!

Calling, squeaking her toy called my Dad to come over from the next block over with his high powered flash light (police issue). I went to put Scoobers and Elvis in their play yard and put my shoes on to head out looking for her in full panic mode-

then I see her laying in her "box" just looking around watching the commotion!

Nevertheless I will always go outside first-if they are lost in the house they'll turn up and you'll just feel silly-if they did breach the perimeter...you better get out looking.

I agree with this. I have also fallen victim to the , I am in the house but not answering you. I was outside searching franticly for scooter and he was up in the bed just laying there. Outside is the first place to check that is a given

Thanks for sharing. I was trying to swallow a ball of fear and my eyes were tearing up just reading the story. I am so glad Pita is ok. Yorkies are like children, they bring intense joy, worry, and terror according to the moment. I have gotten many of my grey hairs from the scary terrier seconds of OMG Where is ..........

I felt like such a bad mommy, and all I could think of was ...she's gone. Worst. Feeling. Ever! It's that moment of freak out, like when you can't locate your child for 5 seconds in a store, which feels like the longest 5 seconds in the history of the world. I would put a bell on her collar if that wouldn't drive me bonkers! lol.
