| ![]() He may be a Schnauzer-Yorkie, but based on some of my fosters, he looks like a Chorkie to me (especially those long legs and ears). He will look more "Yorkie" as his fur grows out, and you get it cut into a "Yorkie face" style. Anyway, I just wanted to say congratulations on bringing home your new baby. Rescue dogs are wonderful, and your new baby sounds just perfect. I'm so glad you found each other. May you have a long, loving, happy life together. Enjoy the holidays with your new baby!

| ![]() I rarely post on this site, but, I know a sure way to tell if your doggie is purebred is to look at his eyes. If they look like he has eyeliner all the way around, that's a purebred. |

It has been a week since we got our baby and he has found his "forever" home. I wish everyone would realize what great pets you can find at the shelter. Training has gone better than we expected. Only one yes I said one accident in the house and that was my husband's fault. Gizmo came to him at 5:45am and knowing he should take him right out he put him on the bed and started to play with him. Bad Daddy!!! I am sure it helps that we are both retired and can devote our entire attention to training. We have not had a puppy for at least 14 years. WE LOVE IT. He found a toy our other dog had hide and we had not seen for months. We are working on come, stay, sit, bad bark and good bark. He found my shoes ooops up they went, tore up tissues, I put them a little higher. Seeing our house with puppy eyes has been interesting. I totally agree that he is Probaby a Yorkie/Chi mix BUT WHAT HE REALLY IS.......IS THE PERFECT DOG FOR US. Thank you for all your help now and in the future. I will continue to send picture as he grows. Our Vet said he is over 6 months for sure but he was not sure he was as old as 11 months.

| ![]() I was thinking Chi cross as soon as I saw the pics and before I read any comments/posts lol. He is very cute! And because of the mix it IS possible he could grow a longer softer coat like a long haired chi or a yorkie. I have a friend who's pomchi looks JUST like a pom as a pup, not he's a few months old and has shed almost all the pom coat and looks like a long haired chi with a silky flatter coat. Crazy how puppies change!

| ![]() You can have a genetics test done on him at the vet or you can purchas a "at home" test. I think that they are about $50 and it will tell you if there is more than one breed in your baby's gene pool and what they are. |
