Thanks I had never heard of this before. I'm not a breeder - Just a yorkie lover, but this seems really intriguing.

Those guys are in definition "blue"....they may be ok.. Plz don't treat them any differently than a regular pup...

If you look at the picture in the post just before yours you will see 2 pups, the lighter one that's Mac & he is a blue born. Blue pups can have lots of health issues so it's Not something you want to breed for Ever. Kendras Mac was well a bit of an accident so to say as I believe the OP's was as well. So far Mac is fine & healthy & we are all praying he stays that way. To the OP, I hope your babies will be as healthy as Mac.

Or even healthier than Mac as he has had a few problems that may or may not be related to being blue. He certainly gave eveyone a scare recently.

I tried to reply yesterday but ran into a few problems, so I just wanted to go a little bit more into detail now. I am not a breeder at all, just an animal lover that took these two in after being dumped and left to die in a box in a dumpster behind a shopping mall. they were dropped off at my vet by some stranger and she approached me. I had fostered cats in the past and lost two of my mixed breeds the previous year due to old age. After fostering the already altered male and pregnant female for six weeks, I couldn't part with them. You can say that I was too emotionally attached and had fallen in love. Shortly after our family grew to six more, including the " blues" and I had no clue about coloring, so I did some searching. So here I am. Long story short. its is day four after birth, dews are gone since yesterday for safety, tail are staying! Vet said they are thriving. So lets wait and hope for the best. Mom and pups will be spayed and neutered.

I posted to you in the other thread, but just in case you dont see it, I want to tell you what a AWESOME thing you have done!! Bless you for taking in these pups... and loving them. Im sure you can find great homes for all the babies!! That will be the tricky part though...making sure the new owners spay/neuter the baby. Are you going to keep both blues?? I also wonder if they are purebred or not since the female was just dumped. It would be a good thing if these pups are grey because of some mix and not because of a genetic flaw!!! And I saw someone told you to look at my avatar pic...Thats my precious "blue", Mack Brown. He is 9 1/2 months old. So far no issues with his skin or hair. He recently caught parvo and we nearly lost him. He was fully vaccinated. We think maybe he just has a very low immune system possibly due to being blue. We have no clue whats in store for him in his future, but we will love him and help him fight through anything we can. He is a very special little man!
