| Choppa just marked my closet door!! This is the first time that we know of that Choppa has marked in the house. This wont do. My female will be 3 next week and was spayed at about 9 months. Choppa is 7 months and was neutered last week. What gives? We have a new neighbor across the street whose dog is not only loose but greeted me when I got home from work and followed me to my door. Could this have anything to do with this new found leg lifting?

| IMHO it very well could be ONE of the reasons why he's marked the door! If he is mature and smells another male dog, he is just marking to say HEY, THIS IS MINE! LOL. From all that I've read neutering doesn't always stop them from marking or even wanting to mate with a female. I just got Mojo done about 2 weeks ago and we think he is around a year. He is still squatting and hasn't marked anything that I know of, he has started to shuffle after he potties and this is a sign of dominance and territory marking too! I've also read that in a mature dog, these things can last for a few months after neutering until the testosterone levels lower in his system, so he may stop marking, shuffling, etc yet. You can also train him to not mark inside, just like potty training. Catch him in the act as much as possible and take him outside right away. Same basics as potty training. I hope Mojo never lifts his leg and can only hope even after his being neutered. I wish you luck! |

| I know what you mean. I talked about my fear of marking in the when I was offered a boy after the girl I had chosen died suddenly. That was my greatest fear to have him peeing in everything and I not know. My son was standing in the door talking to me and he said ' I know he didn't' I said what? He said Choppa just calmly lifted his leg and peed in the hall closet door. SMH. Um home for 4 days on vacation so I will watch him. Too many people here have males with no issue so I'm confident we can work this out.

| What's in your closet...or it's just the mark spot because of a smell notice how you might have another dog on one side of your house and then your dog marks all over your yard even on the opposite side-it's about marking their territory all over it not just by the "intruder"... belly band time that'll stop marking instantly other size leash him to you and say no! I forget who sells belly bands here that are washable-don't buy the junky over priced ones at the pet store and OMYorkies the pads that go in them cost almost $20 a pack and seriously they are like the tiniest little pantie liner you find at the store when you go camping...thin, useless overpriced.

| I used belly bands on my old Yorkie. He marked EVERYWHERE! I got them on eBay for about $4 each. They are the washable cute fabric kind. You can put a thin sanitary napkin in it and it will catch the urine. It is better to have that on him, then having him pee in the house. I agree. Dont get the pet store ones. They are over priced, and they dont fit properly. Good luck!

| Thanks all. It's the hall closet with hair products. Books, extra tissue things like that. For a while for some reason he kept getting in there. It has those sliding doors and he would just get in there for no reason. Lay on stored comforter bags and stuff. I couldn't understand why he kept creeping in there then when I open the bedroom door he would hop out like BOO. I don't know.

| Harry did this for the first time a couple of months ago - not at our house, but at my mum's It was so handy that I caught him in the act - a sharp hollered 'NO' and he's never done it since Personally that seemed the way to go - for him! Sally + Harry x |

| Thankd all. I'm hoping to catch him in the act as well because he kbps NO as if it were his native language. LOL. He does awesome with a simple, normal voice No. He is so smart. I love my Shanti but Choppa is way more eager to learn. Shanti thinks she is human and Choppa is her pet. She expects a treat when he does a trick ha
