Mia is being boarded at the kennel this weekend... And I am so sad and worried. I think she will do fine, but I won't! My DD convinced me that she needs to try out the place before she has to be left there for a week in July. We are going to Phoenix this weekend for DS gymnastics and at past meets when he competes we cage her in the van as she is noisy in the hotel. It will likely be too hot in phoenix for this to happen. So, I'm dropping her at the kennel in the morning. A friend will pick her up on Sunday and bring her home to her pen in the kitchen so she will be here when we get back. I'll let you know how it goes! I'm sure I'm going to be nervous all weekend.

I am sure that she will do great...you will worry but that just means that when you see her again you and her will both be so excited!!!

I'm beginning to consider a kennel stay for Lil Bit when I 'leave town' late March......I'm not saying my husband can't take care of her, but for the past 2 weeks he has been working out of town...he is home on the weekend... He gets up before me so he has been feeding her and the rest of the dog gang........ The past 2 weeks she has been 'sick' on mondays....not eating and BAD runny poops......Last monday I even had to give her sugar and Nutri-cal for 2 days....even cooked chicken/rice...she quit eating for 2 days.. Now either she is missing my hubby REALLY BAD when he leaves "or" he feeds her some of the same crap we feed the 2 other dogs and she gets sick......go figure.

Goldcupmom, I had a young lady leave her yorkie with me recently. SHe was very uptight but I felt honored because I raised the puppy and she called me to take care of her over the weekend. She didnt want to leave her with her friend, not yorkie savvy, not her brother, cause his yorkies beat her up....etc. This puppy hadnt been exposed to other dogs a whole lot because her mom is just a "BIT" over protective. I was a little nervous watching the puppy since she isnt mine anymore.........but I have to tell you that puppy had the time of her life! Played with the younger ones of the crew. She loved the activity and interaction..........this may be a VERY positive experience for MIA! Try to enjoy your time.......and ya know.....just like with a kid........call them and check on her if you need too. RJ's owner did and it was perfectly okay with me.
