Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Natural Part? Hey guys! I may be asking this in the wrong place, but I thought I might could get more feedback here. Admin please feel free to move it if need be. I have a question. We are trying to grow out Katie Scarlett's hair a bit. We love the puppy look, but I wanted to see some length too. I don't think we will go as far as a full floor length show coat, but I would like a little longer hair. I just adore the attached picture of this little one I found on a Google search named Deuce. It may even be one of our fellow YT'ers pup. I wasn't sure as I was in a hurry looking for this on my phone before going to Katie Scarlett's first grooming. So if it is your pup, I hope you don't mind me using it as inspiration! Such a little cutie! So after the grooming, they just trimmed her ears, paws a bit, and did the sanitary trim. I've noticed this week she is starting to get that 'natural part' down the center of her back...although it's a little crooked. Should I start using a comb to straighten up this part every day now or should I wait until her hair is a little longer? Any tips/suggestions are welcome! Thanks guys! Happy Tuesday!

| Yes that is a fellow YTer's baby his screen name is Namor... And as for the part, every time I fix it goes back to how it naturally falls so I just let it stay.

| I fix my pups part like 20 times a day...... now, after several weeks, it has seemed to have stayed how I want it. But, that could all change in due time because her hair is still changing. |

| Bailee's hair parts without any help. Maybe it's the weight of his hair?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | When I blew Joey's hair dry, I would take the dryer and blow it up and down his back until I got a straight part, eventually it just naturally goes that way. Some people use the straight end of a rat tail comb to part the hair. These combs are also great when doing a topknot.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Thanks guys! I'm going to try to part Katie Scarlett's and see if it will stay. Not sure it will or not right now. She still has some growing of the hair to do.

| It does help to blow dry the hair in the direction you want it but if it is still short the part may still change. Most Yorkie pets don't have a floor length coat. Show dogs usually have their coats wrapped when not in the ring to help protect the ends so they can keep that length. You may want the groomer to even off the length for you now and then to keep it looking neat. I keep Gracie's coat long. She has a silky coat and has no under coat so it is pretty easy to take care of. I bathe her about every 8 to 10 days. |
