| ![]() Is there anything I can safely rub on my jewerly cabinet and my lower bedpost to deter Gracie & katie Rose from chewing on them. I know I can distract them with a chew toy, but I'm not always in there. I try to slip up on them & they hear me coming & just stand real still looking like, "we're not doing anything". LOL They are so cute, it's hard to get too aggravated. ![]() |

| ![]() Yes, there's a spray you can buy called Bitter Apple which is supposed to taste so horrid that they won't chew there again. I had a Schnauzer though, who unfortunately became addicted to it....!!! ![]() |

| ![]() We have bitter apple spray... Bailey HATES it! you can even spray it on them so they dont't bite themselves, etc. We used it for training her not to bite her leash. It was so funny to watch her litte face taste the spray ![]() |

| ![]() CHEWING, on furniture is best avoided by teaching very young puppies NO, then giving them a toy and saying Good Toy. With that being said, and we all know it already anyway ![]() ![]()

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | ![]() I've read good things about that Bitter Apple too. I need to purchase some as well. Katie Scarlett wants to chew on her leash at times and she has a faux house plant that she loves to attack when she thinks we're not watching. LOL

I'm now going to sound like the worst mother in the world. When my (skin!) daughter was tiny - many, many years ago now - and she had just learnt to walk, she had a 'thing' that she had to get up in the night, out of her cot, and run round manically. So I did precisely that - hid in her cupboard and shouted NO just as she was about to swing out of her cot. Goodness, I think I half frightened her to death - but she never did it again ![]() ![]() | |

| ![]() I had that problem to but I was teaching NO from the time I brought Choppa home. I would say No a hundred times, remove and give him a squeaky. I did it a hundred times because he is determined. He goes back and back and back no matter what he finally got it so now I say No in a normal speaking voice and whatever he is doing he stops then moves away and lays downwith a look that says "Wasn't me, Mom" lol. Yorkies are so smart it amazes me. I hope the bitter Apple works for you. Try adding no when the your dog gets a taste of the Apple.
