Wow and I was under the impression that all yorkies were in the toy dog group. I wonder where I got a crazy idea like that. |

The difference between the golds and the chocs if they look alike in color is by the nose color. Some golds are dark and look choc. A true chocolate yorkie cannot have a black nose. I hear* you can tell boys from girls by looking, but I don't know that seems pretty complicated to me...:confuse2: |

AKC says they are toys. :D |
I am concerned. I read four posts by the OP about trying to get this litter registered when she has no registration and is not completely sure who the father is of this litter. Obtaining registration papers through "finagling" is really considered fraud. I hope the breeders who are speaking to her are discouraging this instead of encouraging it. Maybe the OP does not know this, but someone should be telling her so that she does. I think FlDebra mentioned it, but I wanted to make sure the OP understands this. I'm sure there are ppl who would treasure one of these pups w/o the papers. |

Must agree - thank you Lorraine. I know there was a "breeder" on here a while ago asking how to "get around" the registry process (the 3 lb yorkie breeder). I'm glad you explained the correct way to go about all of this. I know if I was the OP I would appreciate someone w your exp helping me. |

I'm going to drop my laymen understanding in on this well just because well it's YT open forum and I can. Chocolates have a light nose. Goldens have a dark nose. Tradition breeders are aware of the infrequent popping up of Golden pups they have a dark nose.I'd hope a tradition Yorkie breeder could maybe talk about where the Goldens come from and the issue with them. The light colored nose is something even many Parti breeders see as a sigh of a mixing into the breed. Not all Parti breeders see chocolates and other colors as they beleive Partis and Goldens are something that occurs in certain tradition Yorkie lines as recessive genes, the other colors being now produced as off colored Yorkies like Chocolates, Chocolate Partis, Godlen Partis, etc are different (don't quote me on this as any authority please I'm stating this based on my understanding of some reading). These pups could very well be DNA tested via AKC to be verified of their paternity but anything else in attempting to register them IMHO is fraudulent in attempt. Nevertheless this situation is odd all around. OP I'm completely confused as to how you could not tell if a male was altered or not...did he have what you thought were testicular implants many people are now getting. Bruce Jenner wanted testicular implants for his Boxer after being responsible and getting him altered but didn't want to loose the male look. It's rare and expensive so unless you got a rehomed male from Beverly Hills I fail to see how this could happen unless your male is in fact altered and the female was gotten to by another male. |
Chocolate yorkies are the result of both parents being a carrier of the recessive gene if either or both are not chocolate in the first place. You can breed carriers and still not get a chocolate but when you do, a reputable breeder would not repeat that breeding at it is considered an undesireable colour and any puppies that are chocolate are sold under spay/neuter or altering is done before placing. A gold yorkie can be one that was born black and tan, goes lighter at an early age and then runs gold into the blue, so much gold that it looks like a gold yorkie. If you look underneath the coat, the blue saddle is still there at the skin leve. A yorkie does not carry solid gold, those born solid gold in my opinion is the result of a cross somewhere. I happen to have a mobile grooming business and have a client with a gold yorkie or at least looks like one. In reality he is a yorkie/pom cross. |

She has no papers on the dam so therefore there is no chance of her getting them AKC registered. |

Supporting any breeder who sells teacups puppies is supporting a bad breeder. Glad you found Yorkie Talk before a puppy! Please read, learn & get references for a good breeder. |
