| New to the board -- with some questions! HI! I am new around here! My name is Keri and I just got a Yorkiepoo last night! I adopted him from a rescue. He is 8 years old! I dont know how people can give away an animal after so many years. Anyways... I have a couple worries/concerns, that I was hoping to get some help with. Lucky has been a little lonely. You would actually never even know there was a dog in my apartment. He is staying in his little tent, just laying down. He barely comes out. I went in to get him, and he snipped at me as if saying "Leave me alone!". Is this normal? What can I do to get him to come out and feel more comfortable with me!? Second, he has food allergies. I went EVERYWHERE to try to find the food he was on, but couldnt. They only gave me a quarter of a bag full of food. So I went to the pet store, got similar food and am trying to wean him off. But he isn't eating much. He will only eat it if I mix a little yogurt in it. I am just afraid that he is older, and since he is apart from his old owners, I dont want him to get afraid and something happen to him. So any advice and help would be great! Thanks!! |
