YT Addict | New Puppy trying to feed from Dolce?? Hey guys, so as you know from my last thread, we got a new puppy! His name is Bentley, and He is the sweetest little guy ever! Anyway, For some reason, he seems to think Dolce is his momma. He keeps trying to find a nipple to drink from....?? He is 10 weeks old, now I'm wondering if he was a couple weeks too young to leave his mom? The breeder said he was eating solid foods only now and I'm not sure why he would be doing that, but it kinda pisses Dolce off when he gets up in there and I think he may be biting her a little bit. Any tips? Ideas? What should I do? I have been breaking them apart when he tries to do it, I dont know if I should let them work it out themselves or what? Any help would be appreciated!

| He might just be playing. My dogs like to rumble, flip each other over and gnaw on their bellies/legs. I would be very surprised if a 10 week old puppy was still trying to nurse. |

YT Addict | ok thanks! I've never owned 2 dogs at one time before, so the way they interact with each other is all very new to me. Dolce interacts differently with this puppy than she does with dogs at the dog park or petsmart or what not. Probably because this pup is in her home, and she has to live with him lol. I guess we are in for some new experiences having 2 in our household!

| That reminds me of when I was in the second or third grade, my dad got a little cocker spaniel from someone he worked with. Later, and I know he had to be close to a year old, we went over and visited them and took him with us. He recognized his mama and tryed to nurse her. That was sooo funny. We had him since he was about 8wks. old I guess or maybe alittle older, but he still knew his mother. |
