| When are you going to get the rest of the dog? REALLY!? There is a nose and tail and everything in between that belongs. So what part am I missing? I think that it bothers me more when people think that Mina is really cute and they just stick their hand out to pet her, palm down on top of her head. They wouldnt do that to my children! It scares her,she really does have personal space. I am getting defensive enough about it to say something to people. Me personally I would never just stick my hand out to pet a dog that I do not know. I value my fingers. |

Oh my gosh, that drives me crazy, too. Why do they think it's ok to touch my dog? Just because she's a toy breed doesn't mean she's a TOY!

| Yes to that! Not too long ago, I took Kaji with me when my mom and I went to visit some of her relatives. Kaji had a nice little tee on, and I brought a jacket in case he got cold, and as always, I had his puppy wipes with me. If you know me, this is completely normal for me. That didn't seem to set them off, but when they saw his carseat in the car, they couldn't stop laughin! I don't know what was so funny. Kaji could be seriously hurt in an accident riding in my lap, I've seen a dog fall out the passenger window on a busy freeway, (saddest thin I've ever seen!) and I've gotten a warning from a cop before for having Kaji on my lap.

| My pet peeve is everybody wants to hold Tibbe - strangers, friends, everybody reaches out to get their hands on him as if they can't stand it if they don't get hold of him. He was 9 mos. old and wild as a hare when I got him having lived alone in a kennel most of that time and it took a lot to "bring him back". He loves people and dogs and cats and everything but he's funny about being held and if he doesn't think someone is holding him just right he struggles to try to jump down - even when the person is standing up. But everybody wants to hold him once they see him. Makes me want to put a sign on him that says "Hands Off!"

| I think the only thing that irks me is the "she's so spoiled", so there must be something wrong with you..... type comments. Yes, she has a stroller, two car seats, a comfy den, lots of toys, treats, and her own closet filled with clothes & a few coordinated harnesses/leashes, and she goes to the vet on a regular basis, but so what??? To me that just means she's being cared for as she should be. The implication is almost like if you exceed the absolute bare minimum of care for your pet, there is something wrong with you.

| We have three dogs, and I get alot of comments about having so many animals. "Are you a dog walker? Are those all yours? Boy, you sure have your hands full." I usually just say "This is what happens when you volunteer at an animal shelter." And then it gives me an entree into a conversation about how there are so many wonderful dogs at shelters and rescues. I turn it into an opportunity to educate people that rescues get alot of beautiful, healthy dogs - they aren't all abused, sick and mean like you see on Animal Planet - and they should look there first when considering getting a pet. What I have learned from the many wonderful YT'ers are the things that other owners get tired of hearing. I now NEVER mention that someone else's dog is overweight, if a dog isn't wearing a dress or pink collar, I make gender neutral compliments "Oh, what a sweet/beautiful/well behaved/etc dog you have." If I see a dog in a carriage, wearing matching harness and leash or jeweled collar, I just say that their dog is so lucky to be so well loved. I don't want to be one of THOSE people who goes around making other pet owners uncomfortable with unkind or thoughtless remarks. |

| Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Well we have only had our pup 3 weeks, but the number one thing I get asked right now that drives me nuts is...'Is she a tea cup yorkie?' and then they'll say 'those are the best kind you know.' What?!!! I just want to give them a piece of my mind and say according to standard, there is no such thing as a teacup. Then they'll say that she will be too big to be a teacup. I just patiently say no, she is a Yorkie and is a puppy and no matter what size she is, I love her the way she is! She's not even all that big! She's only 2.8 pounds! And even if she grows to be too big for some, I don't care! She's my baby!!!

| I get asked "omg is she a teacup" then i have to decide "do i really want to go into the debate taht there is no such real thing as a teacup, that it is a big marketing ploy or do i just say, yes she is just very small" Why do you dress her like that? um bc i want to, bc she lets me, shes is a girl the bows and dress are what i like her in, does it bother you? dont look then OMG i would step on a dog that small or hurt her. well then you need to watch where you walk if you ever have a dog |

| 1: With pink bow, pink collar, pink tags on the collar, pink leash, and pink whaterver else she has on that day...... is it male or female. Me being the person I am that will tell ya whats on my mind say: Do you really think I would dress a boy in all pink? Is a girl dummy! 2: As she licks my face with the sweetest puppy kisses ever......someone says, you know she licks her butt with that tounge. Yep, sure do! These are my biggest two right now but I am sure that I would have more if people asked more questions, we live in a very very small town and everyone here knows her by name and loves her just as much as I do. So very few people ask questions about her because they know me well enough that I will just give them some stupid come-back or just tell em off. I am not a shy person! lol |

OMG... i absolutely hate when people do this... it makes me soo nervous at times... One of the first times I brought Lilo out, we went to a yorkie meetup in SF and the ladies were in love with her. Most of the people were quite nice and some even ask before they picked her up or pet her so i thought we were in a pretty safe place. One of the ladies that was there with her two yorkies asked if she could talk a picture with Lilo. I wasn't sure how respond and right before i could, she swooped her up in one hand and perched her on her shoulder like a parrot to pose for a picture she asked her friend to take. They even switched positions and Lilo was passed around to take pictures with 2 other women, like some accessory. I was horrified and it was most tense few minutes of mylife. My bf and i just looked at each other speechless we didnt want to be rude but they just seemed oblivious to the fact that my baby was real and not a toy nor parrot. We took her right after and left. Now when people ask to pet her i usually just say Just pet her gently on her back and if they ask to pick her up i try my best to say "shes a wiggly little one and i would love it if you could just pet her, since thats her favorite." Usually it works. The"teacup" thing always comes up also. I just say theres no such thing and that Lilo is just smaller than stardard and still very young and explain the difficulties of the tinies. I still get the "oh my daughter wants one of those" then i explain why standard size is better and healthier and even a bigger breed that could be better, especially since some of them want a YT for their kids -_- that also scares me to death. | |

| What gets me are the ads in the paper that say, Toy yorkie for sale. The know it alls must not know its a toy breed not a toy. Then another thing I am asked is, when Tina passes away you aren't going to get another one are you???? Well, you know, its my business what I do and you aren't paying for them and taking care of them. They act like its coming out of their pocket. If I couldn't take care of my babies I would not have them. Thank you very much. |
