Overweight 15 week puppy!!!

Thanks for the advice. I did see her parents her father was 6 lbs and her mother was 8 lbs. She really doesn't seem overweight, the doctor said she growing fine. I was just wondering by comparing her weight to other dogs and looking at the chart which didn't even have her weight listed for her age which worried me more. She is very active and a healthy puppy. I was a little concern at first but the vet said she is doing great. She still small to us compared to our other dogs. More to love. Thank you all!!!!

You have the right attitude, if you’re not breeding her, it doesn’t matter if she’s not within standard. Bigger Yorkies have advantages, such as being safer with children, and not being so easily injured. She'll also be able to play safely with your other dogs. That couple of extra inches will mean that you don’t need stairs for your bed and couch!

I agree... I see the little ones and they are so cute but I know I needed a more sturdy yorkie to deal with the shih tuz I have. Remy is still very small, 5 lbs., but a little 3 lbs would have had trouble with our life style.

My Jackson was 6lbs at 12 weeks old. He's now a loving 16lbs.

And Harry was 10 lbs at 12 weeks!! Not an ounce of fat on him, though. Just a big bad boy to love!! Sally + Harry x
