I raised Dachshunds for sixteen and half years.. I was Illinois state licensed and NOT a puppy mill. I kept anywhere between 6 and 12 adult breeding dogs through the years....I usually bred at least one litter per year and sometimes 2 or 3 litters. In the state of Illinois any breeder with 5 breedable females MUST be state licensed and inspected. I did health testing on my dogs and bred nice dogs with nice lines and bred according to the breed standard (Dachshund Club of America) and although I didn't personally show my dogs, I had 3 close friends who we kind of worked together with our lines/dogs and they show. When I quit, I placed 4 of my dogs with a show friend, 2 into pet homes and kept one (spayed). Anyway... I think there may be a mix up about the inspections/license. Most all puppy mills are USDA licened because they have to carry that license to be able to broker their puppies (since they mass produce). As far as I know, not all states have a "state license" requirement. I just know Illinois does. I just wanted clarify that not everyone who is state licensed and inspected is a puppy mill. ![]() I know lots of very reputable breeders who do health testing, show their dogs and care very well for their dogs who are state licensed because it's required by the state.

| OP you were both the animal control and K-9 for what city? Your real name is? Just sayin' if you just came on here to post about how great you are why not post with your real name, pics etc? Here's the deal, I do NoT believe you. Totally off topic here why do so many Greeders & mini pup millers post all about God and toot their 'I'm a good Christian' horn- I mean really God didn't say go breed dogs and then try to hide behind religion to promote making money off my furry creatures...again totally off topic for this thread right and I'm just sayin' ![]() Jesus loves you but I'll pass, have a nice life.

| [QUOTE=capt_noonie;3697288]This has always bothered me as well. You never hear anyone say "I'm a good Buddhist." Proclaiming one is Christian and pointing fingers to others being "un-Christianlike" is almost like implying that their religion is superior to all others.[/Q Not to mention what Christian person is so sinless that they hsve the right to call someone else unChristian like. As Humans we all sin thats why we need Jesus who was the sinless sacrifice

| Just gonna put this out there with regards to the "Christian" comment. I consider myself a good Christian, however that does not give me the right to post whatever the heck I want, lie, and abuse the idiot card. Christians everywhere shake their heads at the careless use of the word that the OP displayed.
