| ![]() I realized I never posted the pics of her shave down. Please don't laugh too loud. I can't begin to ask that you not laugh at all! Every time I looked at her that first week, I laughed. I'm hoping it grows pretty fast because she gets cold now. I have dug out a couple of sweaters to help us through this stage. Since she was getting her day at the groomers, Ben went too and got a cut. He really needed trimmed up but, it was not our regular groomer who takes more advanced notice. She did his face very strangely, but left the hair on his ears long! I don't get too upset as his hair grows pretty fast, but he looks strange to me too! I don't always have the leopard print pad on my couch. But I was trying to use it for pictures. They would not stay centered on it though. Shannon (Concretegurl) sent that to me as a surprise present. It matches their play yard! It was a great cheer up!

Annie does look all puppy again. She is just over a year old so not that old yet anyway but with no hair -- she looks like a baby!

| ![]() I hate those sticktights! I think she is adorable either way. I'll bet she likes her new haircut. ![]()

I actually did work at grooming them for a while. I don't know if you remember me telling about losing my very first yorkie. She was not a show dog or even close but she was the sweetest girl ever. She died at the groomers. I think it was getting overheated, panic, and maybe even them putting one of those choker leashes on her (after I had asked them not to). Could not really get a firm answer but the vet thought she had overheated and had trouble breathing. The groomer said she just started having trouble breathing. She called to tell me & I rushed straight there but she was gone when I got there. When I got two new yorkies months later, I was afraid to take them to a groomer. But I was doing such a bad job on their hair, and it created so much frustration, I found a new groomer. Knowing and doing are such different things. I bought a video disk, bought some books, and read online. Thought I knew what to do -- and I do know but putting it to practice is another thing. I am a bit uncoordinated and it is much worse now that my left hand and arm has no strength and little coordination. The surgery helped a little but I still have a pretty lame arm. So I entrust them to one of two groomers in our area. One is much better at grooming or I should say, she grooms the way I like to see them. But the other is usually free at short notice where the one I like best requires some advance planning for appointments. You're not going to believe this......Ben got into the sticktights too! I thought he was just not picking them up. Evidently they were only in a small portion of the very back yard and he did not find them til today. I was busy pruning on the palms today and left the pups running around the back yard with me. Ben came in with a bunch on him. Not as bad as Annie, but still a huge GROAN! I will use your Cowboy Magic idea and the cornstarch if needed. I do not want to shave Ben too! I am sure I won't have to as his is not nearly so bad. I never did find them, but I mowed & trimmed really well all around the back corner of our yard where I sometimes leave it semi-natural as there are wild flowers that come up back there and look gorgeous! So hopefully, this will be the last episode!!! I can't believe I did not take care of this until now!! I just figured they were not sticking to Ben or maybe there was just one batch of them that Annie had managed to pick up since I did not see any in a walk around. Oh well -- live and learn!! I've heard them called beggar's lice too. But I'm hesitant to call them that in public as people might misunderstand and think they are living critters! Don't want anyone thinking my poor babies have real lice! ![]()

| ![]() Just ran across this again -- Cowboy Magic worked wonders to get the sticktights out of Ben's Hair! I just slathered it on generously, combed with a wide tooth comb first and then a medium. The medium removed the sticktights perfectly! In fact, it was so easy, I felt a little bad about not trying this before I had poor Annie shaved down. But I think this was a good thing to do for her. Finally al of that puppy hair is gone and she can grow a nice adult coat of hair -- hopefully without all of that downy part! Ben felt SO soft after his Cowboy Magic soak, I wondered why I ever stopped using it. But 2 days later when his hair laid limp and looking in need of a shampoo again, I remembered. It is great for softening, great for removing tangles or sticktights evidently, but it does not let them last a week looking nicely clean and free of oiliness.
