That must have taken away your appetite and enjoyment of the day. But, thank goodness he is all well..

I am also very happy that Little Dan is okay! How scary! I am always afraid that Toby is going to get choked. He seems to be just like Dan, always begging and always got something in his mouth! I am glad you both are ok!

Mine (at 2 1/2 months) took a piece of wadded up paper towel out of the garbage and was playing with it. Before I realize what he had, he had chewed up and eaten half a chicken leg bone......and he fought me for the remaining part. I couldn't believe that his tiny little teeth could have done that so fast. It didn't hurt him a bit, but, of course, chicken bones are not on his diet. I certainly found out that he has healthy teeth.

Gotta watch them every minute -- just like a little child -- right?

--- And, yes, thank God someone was there to quickly take care of your emergency. I like the part where he was back in the kitchen minutes later looking for more turkey. You've got to love them........

Thanks so much for all your support. I knew you all would understand how freaked out I was!

Cindy (my friend) is getting a big sushi dinner next week as a thank you. We both are new Mom's (just had babies this summer) so it was a pretty stressful day but as soon as Dan was okay I felt better. It was only until after all my guests went home did it really hit me, how fast the whole thing happened.

There's a part of me that wonders if I should have not gone after him and just let him chew on it at his own pace. The fact he was trying to ger it down before I caught him might have made the situation worse.

I'm just so relieved. Thanks again you guys!

And thanks, Jaspermom, for remembering the heimlich thread. I hadn't seen that before, but I'm going to print it out.

With all the stuff these guys get into, that's one technique all Yorkie owners should know.
