JERK!!!! for sure!:thumbdown |
Jerk is being nice!!! Like many others have said, he doesn't deserve you! My husband did not want me to get a dog when I brought Jack home. It was hard to say no to the little stinker (he only weighed 1.25 lbs when I brought him home and now only weighs 4.5 lbs.) I think my husband spoils him more than I do... My point is, men do love dogs just as much as we ladies do and if that guy doesn't understand how an animal can return love and be the perfect companion, then he truly does not deserve you! You need to move right along - next! |
I love the "Move right along -- NEXT!" comment. Many times in our relationships it's as much about saying 'no' to the wrong relationship as it is about saying 'yes' to the right one. If you are mired in a bad relationship, you will not be able to see the right one come along. Pet hater? Good BYE! Cold hearted?! Go AWAY! Leave the path free and clear so you may recognize the right relationship when it comes along. Chances are that person will come with a pet that he/she is worried about being accepted. if someone has a pet in tow, they have a kind heart. |
Well, one thing you found out sooner than later is that he is not the man for you. I truly think that people who dislike animals don't have a heart. Anyone who dates me has to put up with getting me home in time to let her go potty. Even though my back yard is fenced in, I don't have a doggie door as I worry hawks, etc., may fetch her. The good news is that my parents live across the street so she is never alone for long. We are a team, and it will always be that way. Love me, love my dog. I have yet to date a man that I look forward to seeing more than my Yorkie. LOL Some act like they are crazy about her, but I know better. I am truly sorry for your loss. Be careful, and be safe. |
Most defenitely a Jerk! You deserve better than this person, and the blessing here is that you found out his true colors before you were invested in a relationship with Mr. Jerky jerk. |
Dogs are such good judges of character. Glad this ones come out before you got too involved. He did you a very big favor when he showed his true self. It would have been terrible to have found out later. |
Interesting that today, October 4th, is the traditional day for the Blessing of the Animals at many churches based on St. Francis' caring of the animals. If that "jerk" cares nothing about animals chances are he has trouble caring about people -- good riddance you don't want him in your life :aimeeyork |
I always tell my children this and I firmly believe it. When our time comes, we'll be judged by how we've taken care of those who depended on us (babies, pets, the sick, and the elderly). Don't worry about that dude. You dodged a bullet with that one. |

I have to say I agree with everyone else. Jerk is too kind a word, for that kind of treatment!. At least his mean spiritedness, showed early on. |
I think your former beau is the one who "has no soul," certainly not these precious little dogs. Some men totally love dogs - my husband is crazy about ours! He actually gets up @ 4 a.m. to give them a TREAT! They have got him SO TRAINED, LOL!!!!! They bark @ him until he gets up and gives them a treat --- they don't do it to me, because they know I won't get up @ 4 a.m.!!! LOL This guy is a empty shell who cannot love. You don't need this in your life. You need a partner who feels the way YOU do! Hang in there! :aimeeyork |
All I have to say is BE VERY CAREFUL dating. At least this guy was honest. I married a guy who pretended to love, not just like, my beloved Maltese. It did not take too long after we were married to find that he was just pretending to care for the dog. I had been very honest about the fact that I loved animals and wanted more when I was able to have my own place. We got our own home and he did nothing but complain about my dog and everything else for that matter. It turned out he was a totally dishonest person who could pretend to be whatever people wanted him to be. It took several years to find out what I was dealing with. I'm divorced now and much happier but the trauma of those years is still with me. There are all kinds out there so be very sure of who you are dealing with. |
When I got home yesterday from work Peanut was so excited to see his Mommy, all I can say is his loss and my gain. Yes I am glad I found out before I invested any time into this guy. Thank you everyone. |
